Genesis' View

"Yeah, the girl was smart he said until she and her male friend killed our other two guys." Tony looked over at me.

"How about you guys?" Dave asked.

"Fort Benning, eventually," Rick answered.

He should not be telling these two guys anything, especially if they're like Josh, Ted, and Derek.

"I hate to piss in your cornflakes, officer, but we ran across a grunt who was stationed at Benning. He said the place was overrun by lamebrains." Dave sighed.

"Fort Benning is gone? Are you for real?" I asked him.

"Sadly I am. And based on your outfit, Ms. Castellan, I'm guessing you were stationed there before all of this?" Dave guessed, and all I did was nod. "The truth is there is no way out of this mess. Just keep going from one pipe dream to the next, praying one of these mindless freaks doesn't grab ahold of you when you sleep."

"If you sleep." Tony chimed in again.

"Yeah, it doesn't look like you guys are hanging your hats here. You holed up somewhere else?" Dave noticed.

"No," I answered.

"Those your cars out front?"

"Yeah, why?" Glenn answered.

"We're living in ours. Yours look empty, clean. Where's all your gear?"

"We're with a larger group out scouting. Thought we could use a drink." Hershel lied.

"A drink? Hershel, I thought you quit." Dave smiled. "Well, we're thinking of setting up around here. Is it safe?"

"Can be. If you have the firepower and supplies." I answered.

"I've killed a couple of walkers around here, though."

"Walkers? That's what you call them?"

"Didn't Josh say that the guy and girl said, walkers too?" Tony asked Dave.

"No, Josh said that the dude called them walker, the chick called them geeks," Dave answered. "Geeks, what a stupid name for them." He laughed.

"You call them lamebrains. Didn't think it could get more stupid than that." I joked, and he laughed.

"So what, you guys set up on the outskirts or something? That new development?" Dave asked.

"Trailer park or something?" Tony guessed. "A farm?"

"Old McDonald had a farm." Dave sung. "You got a farm?"

"Is it safe?" Tony asked, and he was taking a piss in the corner.

"It's gotta be. You have a cop, and GI Jane to look after it. You got food, water?" Dave pointed it out.

"You guys got cooze? Ain't had a piece of ass in weeks." Tony asked, making me tense up.

"Listen, pardon my friend. City kids, they got no tact. No disrespect." Dave looked towards me.

I crossed my arms over my chest and walked to the opposite side of the wall that Tony was standing at.

"So listen, Glenn," Dave started up again.

"We've said enough." I interrupted him. He shifted in his best towards me, and I glared at him.

"Well, hang on a second. This farm sounds pretty sweet. Don't it sound sweet, Tony?" Dave asked.

"Yeah, real sweet."

"How about a little southern hospitality? We got some buddies back at camp, been having a real bard time. One's face was smashed in from the guy we were telling you about. I don't see why you can't make room for a few more. We can pool our resources, our manpower."

"Look, I'm sorry. That's not an option." Rick stared.

"Doesn't sound like it'd be a problem." Dave glanced between all of us.

"I'm sorry. We can't." Hershel apologized.

"We can't take in any more," Rick said.

"You guys are something else. I thought we were friends. We got people we gotta look out for too." Dave sighed.

"We don't know anything about you," Rick spoke.

"No, that's true. You don't know anything about us. You don't ink what we've had to go through out there. The things we've had to do. I bet you've had to do some of those same things yourself. Am I right?" Dave looked directly at Rick. "Cause ain't nobody's hands clean in what's left of this world. We're all the same. So come on, let's take a nice friendly hayride to this farm and we'll get to know each other."

"That's not gonna happen." Rick looked down at his glass.

"Rick,"

"This is bullshit," Tony exclaimed.

"Alright, calm down, Philly." I looked over at him.

"Don't tell me to calm down. Don't ever tell me to calm down." He raised his voice. "I'll shoot you four assholes in the head and take your damn farm."

"And if you raise your voice at me again, I'm gonna knock you upside the head just your momma did when you was a child." I stared at him, jumping over the bar and standing in his face.

"Hey, GI Jane, Tony, relax. Take it easy. Nobody's killing anybody." Dave pushed me back.

"Don't touch me, ever." I glared at him and leaned against the bar next to Hershel.

He put his gun down on the bar top for a peace offering.

"We're just friends having a drink. Thats all." Dave smiled. "Now, where's the good stuff?" He bent over to look for more alcohol, and I pulled my gun from my holster. Rick did the same, making Dave glance up. "You gotta understand. We can't stay out there. You guys know what it's like."

"Yeah, we do," I answered.

"But the farm is too crowded as is. I'm sorry, you'll have to keep looking." Rick informed them.

"Keep looking. Where do you suggest we do that?"

"There's a place for you to go that I know of. It's called Nebraska." I stared at Dave, who chuckled.

"Nebraska, this bitch." Dave said and went for his gun. Before he could even grab it, Rick shot Dave, while I shot Tony.

I put my gun back in its holster and looked over at Rick. He slightly nodded towards me, and I let out a breath.

"Rick, they were running with those guys that Shane and I told you about. Thats how they knew about Nebraska, and geeks." I told him.
