Aether stands in front of Xiao. A baby wriggles in the blond's arms grabbing at his scarf her eyes closed. She whimpers softly.The traveler smiles, softly cooing to the baby before looking up at Xiao who was starring.
"Would you like to hold her..?" He asks with a warm grin gesturing slightly towards the bundle in his arms.
Xiao hesitates slightly "What if I hurt it- her" he mutters nervously, quickly correcting himself. Aether rolls his eyes playfully and passes her over gently nonetheless. Xiao looks up unsure of what to do. Aether just nods saying "go on"
The adeptus had never held a baby, he realizes the bundle was awkwardly set in his arms so he quickly fixes it, holding the baby close to his chest.
Xiao looks down at the tiny human he cradled gently in his arms. He looked at her, immediately struck with awe. She was so fragile.. So delicate...So perfect. He knew that from that moment on he was going to stick by her side and protect her.. Nothing was going to hurt his baby.
He smiled softly, bringing a hand to her face gently stroking a wisp of her strawberry blond hair back. To his internal delight she opened her eyes, golden yellow, just like his own. She was so precious.
The baby blinks a few times looking up at him quizzically. "Hello little one" the adeptus mutters, making her blink once again and then giggle.
Aether smiled watching the two, he walked over leaning his head against Xiao's shoulder to watch them interact. They were both so precious, he knew they would have the best kind of bond.
