Despite the fact he couldn't sleep, Xiao kept himself pulled close to the warm boy next to him. He closes his eyes, nuzzling his face against his side.
Aether, already half asleep, runs his fingers gently through the shorter boy's hair. Xiao smiles, pressing his cheek against the boy's exposed stomach. Aether had taken off his breastplate, leaving him in a cropped black undershirt. He was so warm..
Aether's movement slowed until it finally came to a halt, his hand still resting in Xiao's soft hair. Xiao smiles, feeling Aether's chest steadily lift and fall.
He glances up to see the boy was fast asleep, a small smile gracing his soft lips. Xiao lets out a happy sigh, closing his eyes once more.
Xiao feels Aether's hand shift from his hair down to his back. Aether subconsciously, wrapped his arm around his lover, keeping him close.
Xiao loved moments like these, where he could just appreciate the simplest things about Aether. His soft smile, his warm body, his peaceful face.. what was there not to love?
