"I don't wanna be the hero- I just want my sister back-!" Aether yells at Paimon who floated, a look of silent shock on her face.

"Just go away! You do me no good!" Aether sneered, feeling tears pool in his honey colored eyes which had now become dark with anger.

He stomped off, leaving the pixie to float. He teleported himself into his tea pot, sitting down in his room, head in hands. He was truly mad but he still felt horrible for blowing up at his longtime companion. He started to cry harder, scared he had lost another person.

He was a mess, his hair cascading down his shoulders as he looked down, covering his sobbing face. His chest heaved as he struggled for air. He could barely breathe he was crying so much.

The blond flinches as he feels two hands reaching and grabbing his cheeks, pulling his face up to look at them. 

He found himself being forced to stare at Xiao's worried expression. The adeptus frowned, gently running the pad of his thumb against his lover's cheek.

"Paimon informed me of what happened.."

The blond felt his heart drop. Was Xiao mad at him? He knew he shouldn't have gotten so mad..

"Are you alright? Me and Paimon are worried." The adeptus asks softly, carefully kneeling down, still cupping the other's face in his hands.

Aether felt himself begin to cry more, how did they not hate him? He felt Xiao carefully wipe at his face with his hands.

The adeptus suddenly moved forward, sitting on Aether's lap, pressing his forehead against the blond's. Xiao wasn't good at comforting but he tried his best to mimic what Aether did whenever he felt upset.

"Shh.. You're alright, traveler" Xiao stroked his cheeks with his thumbs, kissing Aether's nose carefully.

The blond rested his hands on Xiao's hips beginning to calm down a little. He sniffled, allowling Xiao to give him small kisses all over his face.

"I'm sorry.." Aether mumbles.

"No need to apologize, Aeth"

Aether nodded slowly, taking a deep breath, closing his eyes. He kept his forehead pressed against Xiao's, occasionally letting out a soft hiccup.

"Love you" Aether whispers, once finally calmed.

"I love you too" Xiao hummed, arms now wrapped around the blond's neck, pressing his face into his shoulder. He straddles the blond, refusing to let go until he was happier.
