Horizon♡

Xiao sat on the roof of the wangshu inn, looking over the horizon as he fiddled with his hands. He let out a small sigh, his spirit had been quite dampened for a while- Although it wasn't noticed by many. Aether, his lover, had gone off to Inazuma to embark on the next part of his journey. The traveler had sworn he would come back to visit, but the longer it took, the more upset Xiao had become. Xiao had promised himself that'd he'd stay as calm as possible during the situation- but it was slowly eating away at him. He missed the traveler dearly.

He would do anything to see the traveler at this point. He wanted to be held in his arms and loved on despite him proclaiming he hated the physical contact (for the record, he secretly loved it). He bit his bottom lip trying to shake the feeling that was pitting in his stomach. 'No crying' he reminds himself quietly, rubbing his temples.

Xiao inhaled deeply, teleporting himself down so that he could lean himself on the balchony and get a good look at the people standing down below. He watched as the people he swore to protect waddled around, going on with their daily life.

The sun slowly began to set over mountains of Liyue, casting a orange and pink curtain over everything, almost making everything glow slightly. The adeptus noted how beautiful it was, trying to distract himself from what he found the most beautiful of all.

"Xiao! I'm back!" A familar voice trilled happily amidst the faint sounds of the wind.

Xiao whipped his head around to see the blond, standing there. His eyes sparkled with happiness as the setting sun shown on him, making his honey-like hair look almost gold. This was what he found most beautiful.

Before Xiao could realize what he was doing he found himself running into the travelers arms, hugging him tightly. He nuzzled his face into his shoulder, trying his best to try and hide the fact that he was crying. Unfortunately for Xiao, he wasn't being very discreet about it.

"Well hello to you too" Aether chuckles, his arms immediately finding their way around Xiao. 

"You were gone for too long" Xiao huffed, trying to hold back from making on of those 'pathetic' sobbing hiccups- unfortunantly he fails, letting out a quiet sound as he tried to gasp for air between his tears.

"I know.. I know" Aether sighed, small smile on his face as he rubbed little circles into Xiao's back. He never knew how emotional Xiao could get. "I missed you a lot,Xiao"

Xiao nods letting out a quiet huff in return. Aether took that as an 'I missed you too'.

Aether carefully lifted Xiao's chin to look at him, his eyes were watery, yet they sparkled with joy- and his cheeks were plastered with tears and small lines of eyeliner which had dripped down with his tears yet his still look as beautiful as ever. Aether pressed a soft kiss onto Xiao's lips, smiling slightly. He hadn't kissed the man in what felt like forever. Xiao's lips twitched slightly, a small smile evident on the corners of his mouth.

"I missed kissing you" The blond smiled, starting to get emotional himself. "Oh archons.. Now you have me crying too" Aether laughed, wiping at his face.

"Foolish mortal" Xiao murmurs unable to stop smiling. He tip toes up, grabbing his face. He starred for a moment taking in every small thing- his soft skin, his small sun-kissed freckles, his soft pink lips, the way his golden eyes shown in the faint sunlight. He was so beautiful.He then leaned in and kissed the blond once more. This kiss lasted a little longer, leading into a little bit more than a kiss before they remembered they were in public.

They both pulled away, slightly out of breath but smiling all the way. Tears still spilled but the air was filled with joy as the sun slowly sank and a vast blanket of stars covered the night sky. The two held eachother, talking late into the night. After so long apart, they needed to feel eachother's warmth.
