Aether walks through the city of Liyue, feeling a strange sense of nostalgia. He grinned, twirling around to look at everything. It had been a long time since he had visited. He felt bad for leaving this beautiful place for so long.

Paimon zips around, asking for any food she sees in her vision. The traveler finally gives in, buying her grilled tiger fish. He sighed in relief as the fairy shut up about food and ate.

He looked around the place as if it was his first time there even though he had been there hundreds of times. He chuckles to himself starting towards the Wangshu Inn.. He really needed to visit a certain someone. It had been a long long time.

He walks into the inn greeting Verr Goldett with a small smile. The front desk lady beams at him, coming around the counter to give him a small hug before returning to her position.

"Are you here to see Xiao?" She asks, a small smirk on her lips.

"You guessed it" The blond smiled sheepishly, scratching the back of his head.

"Ah well he's probably in his usual spot on the roof- he hasn't really left it since you left" The lady murmurs, a twinge of sadness in her voice.

Aether frowned nodding. "Thank you, miss"

"Of course, anytime"

"Paimon, you stay here- I want to have some alone time with him" Aether says, patting the fairy. She protests but is quickly shut up by Aether giving her an apple.

Aether trudged up the stairs, feeling himself speeding up the higher he went until he was practically in a run when he reached the top.

He stopped looking around, where was he? He looked in every direction before softly calling the adeptus' name.

"Xiao..?" He frowned, not seeing any sign of his lover appearing. He calls his name again. Where could he be? Was he mad?

The blond suddenly feels a body crash against him, knocking him to the ground. He feels a tight grip pull him close, the person's arms wrapped tightly around his waist.

Aether looked down to see a familiar figure clinging onto him. Xiao was pressed against him, refusing to let go.

"Xiao!" Aether smiles, feeling tears prick in his eyes. He hadn't realized how much he had really missed the boy until now.

"Traveler you're home, You were gone for so long! You didn't visit- I thought you would never come back" Xiao huffed angrily, pressing a kiss to his lips nonetheless.

Aether couldn't help but smile at Xiao's clingy-ness. But he soon frowned again, once again feeling guilt for leaving.

"I'm sorry- Just.. So much happened- I couldn't find time to come back to visit, I'm sorry" Aether murmurs, sliding his arms around Xiao's waist. "Is there any way to make it up to you?"

Xiao thinks for a moment "You being back is enough.. But, since you offered almond tofu would be pretty nice"

"Pff.. Of course I'll make you some almond tofu" Aether grinned, sliding out from under him to stand up. He pulls Xiao up with him, wrapping himself back around the raven-haired boy. "But can we stay here for a little? I missed you so much.. I need to be with you for a second"

"Of course we can" Xiao nodded, a small smile gracing his lips.
