Aether frantically walked around liyue.  People bustled around him failing to notice his worried expession and he frantic pace. He wished he had paimon in the moment but she was the teapot. He was in quite a situation. He had turned around to look at something while he was shopping with Xiao and Aella, his daughter- and when he swiveled back around they had disappeared.

He would have called out for Xiao but he didn't like to telelport with their daughter. He felt extremely guilty, how could he have lost track of his family so easy? Oh, Xiao was going to think he was so irresponsible.. Making his search even worse, people continuously stopped him trying to get him to speak of his past jounreys and battles- they didn't seem to look at his expression which just pissed him off slightly- but that wasn't the point. He needed to make sure his family was okay, he was paranoid. He stood still, scanning the area in front of him.

Suddenly he felt a small body wrap around the back of his leg- he turns seeing a small blond girl hugging his leg tight- It was Aella, a big smile that resembled Xiao's on her chubby face.

"Daddy!" Aella giggled excitedly. Aether immediately scooped her up hugging her close. He gave her a big kiss on the forehead, making her squirm and giggle even more. Now where could his husband be..

"Aella-?!" Another voice called over as if on queue sounding concerned. Xiao looked up seeing Aether, he immediately jogged over, a look of both relief lf anger on his face.

"You can't run off like that-" Xiao scolded to the toddler in Aether's arms, who didn't seem to have a care in the world in the moment. Xiao looked up at Aether, realizing his facial expression.

"Your face looks concerned, are you alright?" 

Aether hugged Xiao with his free arm, letting out a giant sigh of relief .

"I was so worried, I couldn't find you and ella anywhere.." He says, using the nickname. Aella reached over making grabby-hands for Xiao, who she was basically inseparable from- Aether handed her over to the adeptus. The toddler nuzzles into Xiao's shoulder, grabbing his shirt in her tiny fists.

"My apologies-" Xiao says, feeling slightly guilty himself "Ella got distracted and ran off I had to go find her-" Xiao frowned, grabbing Aether's hand. The traveler gave his hand a soft squeeze, trying to reassure him.

"It's alright- I should have been paying more attention.."

"Don't be hard on yourself" Xiao brushed Aether's shoulder with his own.

"Okay okay-" Aether sighed glancing at Aella, who was struggling to keep her eyes open- she was due for a nap a good 30 minutes ago.

"We should get home" Aether chuckled quietly. Xiao quietly agreed and Aether took out the teapot, teleporting the three inside. Aella was now long asleep, still clutching her father's shirt in her tiny hands.

Paimon was asleep upstairs where Aether had offered her a small room to stay in. The two father's headed upstairs into Ella's room, setting her down on her bed. Aether smiled, carefully pulling a blanket over her, careful not to wake his daughter. He leaned over to give her a small kiss on the cheek, Xiao doing the same.

They both starred at her for a moment before turning to eachother, satisfied grins on their faces. Xiao takes Aether's hand leading him off towards their bedroom where he dragged him onto the bed, hugging him. 

"It's only the afternoon, I can't be sleeping yet" Aether smiled slightly, allowing himself to be pulled down despite it.

"Mm.. You deserve a nap, we've been out since the morning" Xiao hums, kissing Aether's nose. "Plus you spent a good hour searching for us.. It must have been quite stressful" Xiao noted, his hands slipping under the back of Aether's shirt to run his fingers against the man's scars. The blond sighed, leaning into Xiao's touch.

"I guess you're right.. I still feel bad for that"

"Don't apoligize for that, we already settled that we were both sorry" Xiao comforted. Over the years the adeptus had softened- at least around Aether. The more of his life he spent with the blond the more happy and care-free he became. He had also become a lot more accustomed to human culture, being able to understand easier now. Although he was still cold in nature, he felt free to smile more.

"Pff.. Alright alright, I'll stop apologizing" Aether coildn't help but smile at the words, leaning over to press a kiss against Xiao's lips. Xiao chuckled reciprocating the kiss before leaning his face against his husband's shoulder.
