Xiao fights off enemies almost robotically, swing, slash, stab, repeat- He thought this was going to be another normal rescue. 

Aether quickly ate in the corner trying to regain some energy so he could help. Xiao took a second too long worrying as he felt something puncture through him. He looks down, finding one of the enemy's pole arms impaling him. 

Aether immediately realizes what had happened and rushes into battle quicky fighting off the rest of the enemies.

Xiao finds himself laying on the ground as his legs had become weak and given up on him. He glanced down at his chest, this was definitely vital. 

Aether rushes over kneeling in front of him, his eyes wide and glossed with fearful tears. 

"Xiao.." The blond croaks out feeling his lip quivering. He couldn't lose him.. No- this was his only source of hope right now.

"Traveler, I'm okay.." He reaches up, cupping his cheek gently, and wiping a tear that had escaped the blond's honey-gold eye "You called, I'll be okay." 

"You're hurt badly- You aren't okay" he says trying as hard as he could to hold back the tears.

"Shh.. Don't worry about me" His eyes fluttered slightly, he felt drowsy.. How bizarre. He gave Aether a small smile. Maybe he'd just close his eyes, relax a little. And that's what the adeptus did.

"Xiao.. No no no- wake up" Aether whispered desperately, practically gasping for air as he let out uncontrollable sobs. He shakes his arm slightly before pressing his face into the adeptus' shoulder letting out another shaky sob.
"Please.. Wake up- I loved you- No I still love you- wake up" The blond sobbed.
