Aether felt crowds all around him as he tried to walk the street. Interviewers stuck mics into his face, making him back away. They asked questions of all types, some people just snapped pictures. This was the downside of being a famous idol. People liked to invade privacy.

When is your next tour? Do you have any idea about this new story? Are the rumors of you and Xiao dating true?
He shakes his head trying to ignore them- WAIT- what was that last one? He feels his face flush and he tries to wave off the people, ducking his head low to try and avoid pictures.

He finally manages to rush away, running into a crowd of civilians. He ducks down an alley taking a shortcut to the studio. He enters quickly, closing the door. He slumps against the wall sighing dramatically.

"Oof, paparazzi?" A familiar voice hummed from across the room.
Aether looks up to see Xiao. He just nodded breathlessly.

"They really need to respect privacy.." Xiao shakes his head.

"Mhm!" Aether agreed, letting out a soft laugh. He thought over the questions he had been asked, the last one really hit different. Where did they get the idea that he and Xiao were dating? That was crazy..

Aether sits down. The two had been sharing a studio for years. Xiao was a musician while Aether was an idol. Both needed the studio so they came to a mutual agreement to share it.

Xiao quietly tuned a guitar as Aether scrolled through his phone, clicking in the hell hole that was twitter. He quietly scrolls immediately going red. All over his screen were tweets of people saying 'Omg wouldn't Xiao [last name] and Aether [last name] be so cute together🥺' and 'Do you think they are dating?!' (followed with pictures and tags of them).. How embarrassing, what kind of rumor was this?

He felt a small part of his brain wanted the rumors to be true. He wasn't sure why but the thought of being with the musician made him giddy. The other half of his brain wanted to curl up and die. Why are people on the internet like this?

"Is something wrong?" Xiao asks, shocking Aethe out of his thoughts. The blond shakes his head, giving him a nervous smile.

"No- just people on the internet making rumors.. Heh-" He chuckles awkwardly, scratching the back of his head.

"About..?" Xiao presses further, halting his tuning.

"About us dating" Aether mumbles, barely audible.

"Oh.. Uh-" Xiao blinks. He did not expect that. He was expecting some stupid shit about Aether's next tour or something- not his love life. Not to mention he was involved.

"Strange.." He mutters in response, feeling his own face heat.

"I know-"

The two sat in silence, too embarrassed to speak up. Xiao started to quietly tune his instrument again, making Aether return his attention back to his phone.

In truth both boys had the temptation to speak up, saying they wouldn't mind the rumors becoming true. Despite their thoughts they both stayed silent, quietly continuing with their daily tasks.
