Thunderstorm (Rewrite 50k special!)♡

Xiao pulls the blanket up higher over his head, huddling himself into the corner of the room. He squeezed his eyes shut, covering his ears the best he could with his hands. He jumped as thunder crashed out side. Stupid thunderstorms. He was supposed to be a strong adeptus, he should not be scared of a measly storm.. yet he was. He hated the loud noise, he couldn't get over it. He was so afraid he had actually teleported himself into a empty guest room.

Downstairs in the main lobby, Aether walks in, his clothes and hair slightly damp from the rain outside, luckily he had access to teleport waypoints and was pretty dry co.pared to if he was to walk. He approched the front desk, smile on his face.

"Good afternoon, Verr!"

"Greetings Traveler! Here to see Xiao?" Verr Goldett hummed.

"You guessed it" Aether lets out a small laugh "Would you like me to bring anything up to him?"

"Ah, yes! There was some Almond Tofu made for him" The lady smiled back, gesturing towards the kitchen.

"Alright, I'll take it up to him" Aether nodded

 Aether walked around the inn. As he walked he became increasingly confused, he couldn't find the man anywhere. He knew Xiao liked to hide but he had checked most of his common hiding spots, yet he still couldn't find him. After checking almost every unoccupied room, he finally finds something- a small ball of blankets huddled into a corner of a room where a bed was.

"Xiao..?" Aether says softly, walking over to the blanket ball.

"Get ou-" Xiao pulled the blanket down, realizing how it was "Oh..apologies, Aether" Xiao mutters.

"Are you alright?"

"I'm fi-" Xiao jumped, gasping as thunder strikes again. 

"Are you scared?" Aether smirked, a teasing tone to his voice.

"No..I don't get sca-" He jumped again as another boom was heard and he stopped mid-sentence to cover his ears. Aether's smile wavered at this, realizing he was genuinly scared.

"Mm.. Well Verr made some almond tofu- but I think that could wait" The blond smiled softly all tones indicating he was messing around dissipated. He put the plate down on the bedside table for his lover to eat later. He carefully sits down, starting to remove his armor so that it was a little more comfortable.

"What are you doing-" Xiao asked

"Taking off my armor?"

"Why.."

"pff.. Just Come here" Aether opened his arms up. Xiao was resistant until thunder crackled again- he practically jumped into Aether's arms, hiding his face against Aether's chest. The traveler smiled slightly, his hand finding it's way to Xiao's hair.

"This is disgusting.." Xiao murmured, wrinkling his nose up when he remembered his 'hate' for physical touch.

"Okay okay- I'll leave then" Aether says dramamtically, starting to stand up.

"No-!" Xiao squeaked, pulling him back down.

Aether giggled, kissing Xiao's forehead. He was so stubborn sometimes, it was cute.

At first Xiao was tensed up and uncomfortable but he soon melted into his boyfriend, his warmth and soft touch too enticing to resist. Xiao leaned up against him, listening to the blond's soft heart beat- The yakasha soon found himself bunching the back of Aether's cropped under shirt in his fists, hugging himself closer.

Aether let out a soft hum, pulling them both down onto the bed. Xiao nuzzled against the blond, smiling slightly as kisses where pressed against the top of his head. Aether was finally beginning to calm Xiao down.

"I love you" Aether smiled, making the adeptus blush and mumble a quiet 'I love you too'- Which was enough for Aether,he knew Xiao was shy about words. Xiao flinched slightly as a louder crash of thunder clapped.

"Shh.. You're safe with me"

"I don't need to be kept safe.." Xiao huffed, still burying his face into the blond's upper chest.

"mm.. Too bad, I'm keeping you safe. Let me have this one" Aether hummed, a small hint of a teasing tone in his voice once more.

"Oh hush" Xiao huffs, reaching his hand up to take out the blond's braid. He carefully ran his fingers through the traveler's honey-blond hair.  Once the hair was taken out the sweet smell of wind wheel aster increased, calming Xiao even further. 

Xiao and Aether lay in eachother's arms, enjoying each other's presence. Aether whispered sweet nothings to Xiao effectively helping him ignore the loud sounds of the storm. He rubs soft circles into Xiao's back. Xiao felt himself relax slowly drifting into a deep state of relaxation, the closest he was going to get to sleep. Aether smiles softly, continuing to hold his lover even when the storm had finished.
