Xiao hugged Aether refusing to let the boy go. He nuzzles into the crook of his neck. He smelt of windwheel asters and honey.. such a rare scent in Liyue. He didn't want his lover to leave. He wanted him to stay forever.
"Xiao.. I'll only be gone for a little while" The traveler sighed "Like.. Maybe a week or two"
"Too long" Xiao grunts, keeping the traveler from pulling away from his hug. Aether sighed awkwardly patting his head.
"I'll try and come back as soon as possible, my love"
The adeptus softened his grip slightly at the use of 'my love'. He loved it when the traveler called him that.
"Travele- Aether" Xiao frowned, looking up.
"Hm..?"
"Be safe please- and come back, I'll be here waiting for you-" Xiao mutters, his face blank except for his eyes, which held the hidden signs of a pout.
Aether chuckled at his puppy eyes, leaning down to kiss him. Xiao kissed back, slowly wrapping his arms around Aether's neck.
The two stayed like that for a while before Aether heard his name. The two reluctantly pulled apart.
"I love you so much, my sweet yakasha" Aether presses one more kiss to the adeptus' lips, giving him a tight squeeze.
"I love you too, Aether" Xiao says, the corners of his mouth tilting into a small smile.
"I'll miss you- stay safe"
Aether nods giving him one last 'Love you' before running off in the direction of where his name was being called
