Kaitlin's P.O.V

"Whaaaaat so you have never hooked up with a guy, like ever, not a single guy at all!" Yells a girl from the other side of the diner table.

"No but is it that hard to understand um..." I say completely forgetting her name.

"Oh I'm Emma your friend Beca told you I would be coming right?" Emma said with a look of excitement.

"Right your the spaz," I say purposely trying to provoke her.

"That's me captain spaz, Emma reporting for duty." Are you fucking kidding me.

I turn to Beca as she watches Emma do whatever it is she is doing. Oh, my pitcher is at the top.

"So is there a reason that you haven't hooked up with a guy, I mean there is a reason right?" Emma asked me.

"Kaitlin's a lesbian so she would have no interest in guys," Bec explains.

Ding Ding Ding

"Well it looks like my time is up don't want to be late home or mum from hell will rain her divine judgment on all you lesser mortals," I say as I get up to leave the diner.

"Mum from hell," Emma said with a laugh.

"What she means is that woman will rip the tops off mountains if she were tall enough," Beca says as I leave.

As I am walking home I get a call from Rick a boy that I met in my second year of high school and took 1 whole year to work out that I was a lesbian.

"Hey Rick you still job searching?" I ask literally curious.

"No I got a job but that's not why I called you, did you know your mum is dating this guy who looks like he's a teacher in a student and teacher romance comedy show" He replies like I should be worried.

"Yes his name is... wait how did you even find out?" I asked concerned.

"Beca told me," He said like it's not a big deal.

"And I can also see them in a coffee shop across the road from me they seem happy together, your mum in particular." He says as I formulate 50 ways of torturing Beca to make her apologize for leaking the information.

"Yep, that's the main reason that I am letting her date this guy after my dad left. I almost never see my mum happy and when I do it is almost always behind a fake smile but with him, it seems genuine." I say with a sigh.

"I also saw you leave the diner," Rick says making me snap back to reality.

"Where are you?" I say looking around.

Then a voice says right in my ear.

"Right behind you." Making my jump out of my skin and about 5 steps forward as I turn around.

"Rick you asshole," I say with a smile.

He smiles back and we both hug each other, I mean I haven't seen him in a year and a half. I reel back and put my phone away before looking back up at him.

"So, where are they?" I ask looking around.

"Over there at Cup & Cake," Rick said pointing to a shop on the other side of the road about 5 shops down.

"Huh, they are happy," I mumble.

"Yep, mister suit and bow tie seems to like her," Rick says.

"His name is Phil," I say.

"Ok, now he sounds creepy," Rick complains.

"Who's that?" I ask as a girl goes to the table of my mum and Phil.
