Desperately Needed

CHLOE'S P.O.V

We are taken down a number of halls full of doors and glass walls until we get to a room made of metal with a steel door with the words "No Unauthorised Personnel" on it in yellow spray paint.

"I guessing you have more than just evidence in here to warrant all this security," Kaitlin said looking at the door in awe.

"You have no idea" Rick opened the door and letting us in

We walk down a few flites of stares until we are in an enormous room full of boxes on shelves and full of assorted items we follow rick to the left as he makes his way to the only shelf not full of assorted items. he pulls the box down and hands it to us Kaitlin takes the box and turns to me with a smile.

"Care to do the honours," She said.

I take a box cutter from Rick and cut across the tape sealing the box as I open it there is a lot of bubble wrap so I remove it layer by layer until there it is the Glamergé egg. We both look at it and then smile at each other I then close the box and take it from Kaitlin's arms then turn to Rick looking amazed that I had an egg-like that in my possession.

"We're gonna need this box," I said.

"And a car" Kaitlin said.

Rick sighs and nods we get home an hour and a half later we tiptoe inside and realise that neither my mum nor my dad are home we relax and put the box down on the table.

"Now wha..." I start but are cut off by Kaitlin kissing me.

I was stunned at first but I take a minute to collect myself before closing my eyes pulling Kaitlin in by her hips and start enjoying the kiss Kaitlin then pushed me to the table. I brake away from the kiss as I stumble over the table until I am bending back, hands on the table behind me I dart a look at Kaitlin and she smiles back at me and kisses me again. After about ten minutes we hear the front door open and our mum and dad come in.

"Well, then where could they have gone we have looked everywhere I have run out of ideas just as you have Phil if you have an idea I would love to hear it," My mum said walking right past us.

I am about to say something when Kaitlin stops me and drags me to behind the counter to watch how long it takes them we watch them argue and then.

"I mean Kaitlin can be sometimes impossible to control but this is just crazy even for her," My mum said as I turn to Kaitlin and she coughs to get their attention.

They turn round and look at us my mum's face goes from confused to surprised then to happy and finally sad as she runs to us and hugs us crying my dad close behind. She hugs us very tightly so tight that I can see the uneasy on Kaitlin's face.

"Where have you two been this whole time?" She said squeezing us even tighter.

"I have a copy of the police report" Kaitlin managed to squeeze out of her lugs getting ever smaller.

Our parents go through the report and I lean to Kaitlin.

"When did you get a copy," I said.

"Swiped it off the desk on the way out," Kaitlin said.

"How?" I said.

"Allow me to introduce you to this town's number one pickpocket," She said.

"You were going to tell us right," My mum said.

"This is us telling you," Kaitlin said.

"And the box?" My mum said.

"Phil you might want to open that," Kaitlin said.

"I see," Said my dad walking over to the box with caution.

He opened the box removed the bubble wrap and then began to cry I went over to comfort him.

"Ever since you were born you always find ways to amaze me," He said tacking out the Glamergé egg.

"The hell," my mum said staring at it.

"Family Heirloom from Chloe's mother's side," Kaitlin said.

"Indeed but now it is a part of our family," My dad said.

"What do mean our family," My mother said.

"My wife before she passed away told me something about this egg she told me that this egg has made it through countless family's from hers to mine and now to ours," My dads said.

"So now we own it," Kaitlin said.

"Correct," My dad said.

"Hold it how come mum never told me any of this," I said.

"She wanted to but I guess she waited too long," My dad said.

"Well, we can talk about this later as you can probably tell that me and Chloe are due a desperately needed rest and a chance to sleep in our own beds we need sleep on this" Kaitlin said.

"Your right go sleep enjoy your beds," My mum said.

We get to our room and I sit on our bed but Kaitlin stands confused.

"There's something wrong I can see it on your face," I said.

"That egg it has gone through family's right," She said.

"Ya," I replied.

"So what happens when we need to pass it on we can't have kids," She said.

"You think ahead," I said.

"I adore the whole family heirloom being passed down from generation to generation story complex and would like it to continue when I am long gone," She said.

"I see your point," I said.

"Ya but I have no idea how to keep it going without changing the laws of biology which is impossible," She said.

"Hey I have an idea but I want something," I said

"What," She said sceptically.

"I want to be with you I want our first night to be like that you we had when your dad was here so to do that I need you to forgive me so if I give you this then will you forgive me and no depending on my answer bull shit this time," I said.

"Ok tell me," Kaitlin said after a long wait as she went over what I said.

"First my mum probably meant family by mirage, not blood so we can get a kid without breaking the laws of biology or any law's for that matter," I said.

"Witch is," Kaitlin said getting anxious not knowing what I was going to say.

"And you said you were smart what is the one way people can get kids without getting intimate," I said.

"Oh, adoption," She said smiling.

"There you have it but as I said family by mirage," I said putting my arms on her shoulders and around her neck.

"You are forgiven," Kaitlin said.
