Running To Escape

KAITLIN'S P.O.V

Me and Chloe are sitting playing on the X-box as my mum and Phil make lunch which they have started doing a lot over the last week.

"Oh Chloe dear," Phil said grabbing her attention but not enough to make her look away from the game.

"Doctor Harring called he wants to schedule a check-up when are next free," He said grabbing my attention this time.

"We haven't planned anything have we?" Chloe looking at me as I paused the game shacking my head.

"Then whenever," Chloe said.

"What's going on?" I asked as I looked around the room waiting for an explanation.

"Tell you later," Chloe said as she picked up the controller wanting to finish our game.

Later as we get our homework done before we forget I ask Chloe again.

"So what was that all about?" I said.

"Nothing just something that happened a long time ago a ghost from my past you don't need to worry," She said filling in a box on her maths.

"Sorry but now that you are my girlfriend I don't have to hide it it's my job to worry," I say.

"Before we moved here back in my old town the health care was not the best meaning that vaccines were not so widely available as they are in this town and that led me to catch a disease that can be cured but it must be monitored to stop it from returning," Chloe said.

"Are you ok?" I said beginning to panic.

"I'm fine but we are in a way running from that town for all its great quality's it gave up some important things that any town needs to function like hath care, education and security and those are off the top of my head," Chloe said.

"Well you won't have to worry about that here," I say kissing her before returning to my homework.

CHOLE'S P.O.V

The next day we are at school and it is the final acting class before resales need to begin I am down on one knee and Chloe is acting a queen knighting a commoner.

"Wonderful just wonderful you are ready to begin rehearsals for your script, you do have a script right," Andy said.

"Bec finished it this morning," said Kaitlin pulling a script out of her bag.

Andy takes the script and begins to flip through it and as he does his complete silence makes me nervous, we wait for about 10 minutes until finally.

"Who did you say wrote this?" Andy asked as he let the pages fall into a closed position.

"Bec," I said.

"Wow I've read some scripts in my time but this Bec has talent it's glorious," Andy said admiring the script only now confirming my superstitions about his love of the word glory.

"I'll tell her but she may not believe it was you who gave her the compliment," Kaitlin said as I let out a laugh.

"Shall we begin casting the rest of the crew?" Andy said and we both smiled.

"ALL RIGHT LISTEN UP WE HAVE A SCRIPT AND OUR MAIN CHARACTERS WHAT WE NEED IS THE REST OF CAST SO who wants what" Andy yelled as the rest of the drama club turned their attention.

After 5 minutes of debating and augments the rest of the cast had been chosen though I doubt everyone was happy.

"So we're all cast now we will get you all a copy but for today you must get into character so I'll give you all the rundown of your characters and then you know what to do," Andy said.

"Hey I meant to ask did you mean it when you said your running from your old town" Kaitlin said as Andy gave the other their character profiles.

"I'm not sure I just know that when I got to this town my dad said to me 'Chloe no matter what don't look back' so he probably knows more than I do," I said holding back one vital piece of info to protect Kaitlin.

"Fine I won't push," Kaitlin said as her phone began to ring.

"Um oh hi Phil everything ok why what's happened... SHE WHAT WE'LL BE RIGHT THERE" Kaitlin yelled as she grabbed my arm and pulled out of the drama room.

"Hey wait what's going on what did my dad say to you on the phone," I said as I stumbled trying to keep up with Kaitlin her still holding my arm.

"He said my mum has been rushed into hospital and he doesn't know why," Kaitlin said as she kept pulling me.

After a ten-minute bus ride we make it to the hospital we burst through the doors and we ask at the reception why she is we are told we had to wait until she was moved to a room before seeing her. Kaitlin tried to tell them that she was her daughter but was given the same response my dad then came out from behind the corner of a hallway with a bottle of water which he then offers to us when he saw us.

"Here drink this and calm down I am sure your mother will be fine," He said putting me at ease but I could see that Kaitlin wasn't convinced.

I took the water and took a few gulps then handed it to Kaitlin and she did the same still with the worried look on her face my farther then gestured for me to come over and talk in private.

"I know what you're going to say and it is not possible there no way," I say.

"And how much does she know?" He asked me.

"How little do you trust me nothing she doesn't know anything" I feeling bad hiding all of this from her.

Later Bec and Sam came in and hugged us both.

"We came as soon as we heard" Said Sam.

"Thanks but who told you?" Kaitlin asked.

"I did there's only a fine amount of support that a lover can offer in situations like this you need friends by your side as well," I said hugging Kaitlin once more.

"Along with those who know what you're going through," Sammy said.

"What the hell," I said.

"He's my brother I had to tell him and we do know what you're going through," said Sam.

"Any more visitors we should know about" Said Kaitlin.

"Not that we've told" Said Sam.

"Well we should call your dad," I say getting a nod from Kaitlin.

As Kaitlin calls her dad I talk to Sam and Bec.

"So what is it," Bec asked.

"We don't know," I said with a sigh.
