Down By The Fire

KAITLIN'S P.O.V

Chloe and I lay side by side on the bed on our sides kissing I had one leg in between hers as did Chloe to me the hand that was closest to the bed was on Chloe's stomach and hers was on my neck. My other hand was intertwining its fingers with Chloes and pushing agents it as hers pushed back we then hear a knock on the door it is my mother saying that our pancakes are ready and that Seth and Layla are already digging in.

"You tow waste no time stuffing your fat faces do you," I said as I enter the kitchen with Chloe.

"Ahh snooze you loose" Seth said as he shoved another mouthful of pancake into his mouth before fully swallowing the previous.

Chloe and I sit at the table and grab the pancakes from the central stack as we sit as I start cutting into my first my mum goes to her room and comes back with a present.

"Did you forget one?" I said,

"No, this one is for you tow from Kaitlin's father I wasn't sure if I was going to give it to you but then I thought if it was you then you would want to have it so here," My mum said handing my a slightly bigger than A4 and slightly higher than A5 size box.

"Got that right," I said tacking the box.

I opened the box to find two laptops inside.

"Well, what is it?" My mum said.

"Trust me you don't want to know," I said returning the lid.

"As expected from your father I suppose," My mum said.

"Hey so do we have any plans for the rest of the day?" Seth said.

"I have one," My mum said.

"And that is?" I said.

"Do you remember what we did with your dad back in that house just off the cost?" My mum said.

"A lot of things happened in that house," I said making my mum all too familiar with what I was referring to.

"Yes but I'm referring to the Christmas we had in that house," My mum said.

"Let's see we had chocolate by the fireplace full English breakfast and aha I can't remember everything," I said.

"Well the one thing that you always loved to do was something involving the fireplace can you guess, this was back in that screw everything point you went through," My mum said.

"The only thing I can think of is burning my old school books in the fire," I said.

"Your mum let you do that I would have loved to do that" Seth said.

"Don't get me wrong she tried to stop me on many occasions ultimately failing," I said.

"It's not that," My mum said.

"Look, mum, just tell us I'm not going to get it," I said laying my head on Chole's shoulder.

"Fine we would always talk about getting you a pet," My mum said.

"You know what that does sound familiar," I said.

"So we always talked about getting a pet now why do you think I'm saying this," My mum said and then it hit me.

"Waite are you serious no way," I said standing hands on the table in excitement.

"Should be arriving soon," My mum said.

We finished breakfast and then as my mum cleared away the plates I asked my mum.

"So what kind of pet is it?" I said.

"That would defeat the purpose of the surprise," My mum said.

"Then tell me why now why get a pet now after all this time?" I said.

"Well do you remember why I said no in the past?" My mum said.

"Because there wasn't always someone home," I said.

"And now there is," My mum said.

"When is it planned to arrive?" I asked eagerly awaiting an answer.

"Humm within the next hour or so," My mum said looking at the clock.

"As long as it turns up today it is still considered a Christmas present," Chloe said.

Chloe began hugging me with her arm around my stomach from behind her chin on my shoulder she turned to me and I kissed her and out of the corner of my eye as we pulled away I could almost spot a smile on her face.

"Well my father's present to us requires some set up so we should get on that," I said.

"Oh ya," Chloe said as she followed me to our room after I picked up the box.

In our room we sat on our beds and powered up the laptops as we went through the setup stages Chloe asked me a question.

"So your dad got these for us?" Chloe asked.

"Uh-huh" I said as I read the security setting options in my head.

"How does he have the money for this" Chloe asked.

"Well he works for a government-funded project and the government is pouring ass loads of money into his project and well anything left over goes into the pockets of those working there," I said.

"Is that legal" Chloe said.

"If it's not as long as the government doesn't find out yes 100% legal," I said.

"I'm kidding," I said getting a scared look from Chloe.

"So what are planning to do with your laptop first," Chloe said.

"Hook it up to the internet, of course, you?" I said turning realizing that Chloe was now right in my face.

"Oh I don't know," Chloe said.

"My my I believe I have created a monster," I said.

Chloe kisses me and I kiss back.

"Hey later we should do this by the fire it will be the greatest night of your life," I said.

"Can you guaranty that?" Chloe said.

"Not the first girl I've dated remember," I said.

"Why does that not make me feel any better" Chloe said.

"Do you want to know the extent of my love life or do you want to be content with the way it is because I'll tell you but I can't guaranty you'll be happy with what you hear?" I said.

"Then tell me one thing what is the furthest you've gotten with them?" Chloe said surprising me.

"I always woke up in my own bedroom is that good enough," I said it being true after all.

"For now," Chole said.

"So when do you want to know I plan to tell you but I need you to be ready to hear it," I said.

"Why?" Chloe said.

"Because although I woke up in my own bed the things I wanted to do were well let's say you don't want them to stop," I said.

"Do you want to do those things with me?" Chloe said.

"Why don't we find out down by thefire," I said kissing Chloe passionately.
