Assembling A Team

CHLOE'S P.O.V

Kaitlin and I sit in her room on the floor rifling through page after page of old records of businesses that could in some way be related to Thine corporation. we have binders folders and piles upon piles of paper.

"Puppet corporation what do you think he ment by that?" I said.

"Simple he means that the Thine corporation is buying up the favoured shops of our town under the name of another corporation problem is wich one," Kaitlin said.

"So that's why we are looking through all these old records," I said.

"Bingo," Katlin said turning over another page.

"What exactly are we looking for?" I asked.

"Anything that is out of place or a business that has had a connection with the Thine corporation in the past" Kaitlin said.

"But most of the people in this list have had dealings with the Thine corporation," I said.

"Then look for something else that could be out of the ordinary or something that is too perfect to be a pure coincidence," Kaitlin said.

"Example?" I said hoping to get one.

"I don't know," Kaitlin said.

"FIne... wait why is it called the Thine corporation?" I asked with a sigh.

"Probably because the CEO's last name is Thine," Kaitlin said not lifting her head from the pages in her hand.

"Arrrr why does this have to be so boring," I said as I fell onto my back.

"Hey look at this" Kaitlin said.

I get up and shuffle over to her.

"What?" I say.

"The Armguard LTD was a big name company that worked in a partnership with the Thine corporation until two years ago," Kaitlin said.

"So," I said.

"Tow years ago is the exact time that Armguard LTD went out of business thanks to bankruptcy," Katlin said.

"You think the Thine corporation had something to do with that?" I said.

"And I think they planned it like that not sure how yet but I'm working on that" Kaitlin said.

"Your hot when you're in detective mode," I said.

"Wanna see my badge of legal hotness," Kaitlin said.

"That was weak and cheesy," I said.

"Ya ya shut up," Kaitlin said.

"Well, we have somewhat of a lead what now?" I ask.

"We tell Bary," Kaitlin said.

"Who can wait an hour or two?" I said as I put my hand on Kaitlin's cheek.

Kaitlin kissed me and put her hand on my hand and then Kaitlin's laptop binged.

"An email?" Kaitlin said not expecting one.

"Who from?" I asked.

"Momo," Kaitlin said as she opened the email.

"Well, what does it say?" I asked.

"It says that she wants in," Kaitlin said.

"In in on what?" I asked.

"I guess whatever it is we're doing with all this" Kaitlin said gesturing to the pages and binders all over the floor.

"Well if the fact that she knows that we doing something wasn't enough to creep you out do you want her help," I said.

"She knows I'm always up to something because I am always up to something and her offering to help maybe her just being a genuinely nice person," Kaitlin said.

"Sooooo," I said waiting for what Kaitlin planned to do next.

"So we now have a team," Kaitlin said smiling at me.

"A team of three," I said.

"Of five," Kaitlin said.

"Five?" I said confused.

"Sam and Sammy will jump at the chance to be a part of this" Kaitlin said.

"Sound like you need to start giving us jobs to do and positions on the team," I said.

"Huh, good idea," Kaitlin said.

"Do you know what position you would give to me?" I asked.

"You already have a position you are my personal and private assistant," Kaitlin said.

"Like the sound of that private part," I said.

"And I like the activates involved in that private part," Kaitlin said kissing me and pulling me in closer.

"So let's assemble the team," I said pulling away.

"I think it needs a name," Kaitlin said.

"A team name huh not a bad idea any thoughts?" I said.

"How about the hidden squad," Kaitlin said.

"And how exactly are we hidden?" I asked.

"How many teenagers do you know that are doing stuff like this, we are detectives hidden in plain sight," Kaitlin said.

"Huh, your right," I said.

"And I think I know what position to give to Sam and Sammy they will be the soldiers the one who protects us considering their strength is fit's right," Kaitlin said.

"Well you're not wrong," I said.

"So I'll call them?" Kaitlin said.

"After I have shown you just how privet I can be," I said kissing her.

THE NEXT DAY

We sneak our way out and down the hall to Bary's door Kaitlin knocks on the door and nothing happens.

"Hey Bary you in there?" Kaitlin said.

"Maybe he's out?" I suggested.

"Na guys like a vampire never leaves his house even works from home," Kaitlin said.

Just then Sam and the rest of the gang with Bec come round the corner.

"Well, we got your message what's all this about?" Sam asked.

"How would you like to tack down the Thine corporation?" Kaitlin said.

"Your kidding right," Sammy said.

"Trust me bro that look on her face she is so painfully serious," Sam said.

"I guess this explains why you gave us all names like mine Tec guy/girl," Said Momo looking at her phone.

"What the hell is a PR person?" Bec said.

"Public relations," I said.

"Got it," Bec said understanding what she may have to do.

"So who is this guy?" Sam asked nodding his head to the door.

"Our employer and if I remember correctly," Kaitlin said bending down.

She then began lifting up the mat in front of the door and then poting her finger in a hole in the wood to reveal a set of keys under the floorboards.

"Got ya," She said as she grabs the keys.

"She then put the key in the hole and tuned it as the door opened I could tell something was off after opening the door full we look down to see Bary lying down on the ground with blood coming from his head. I screamed and Sam rushed in to see if he was alive he then grabbed his phone.

"WE NEED AN ABERLANSEC NOW A MAN IS HURT HE'S ALIVE BUT BARELY WE ARE AT THE HILL TOWR APARTMENTS 12TH FLOOR ROOM 1225 HURRY" Sam yelled into the phone.
