KAITLIN'S P.O.V

Bary looked at me with a smile and leaned back in his chair.

"You may have noticed that a few shops around town have had their names changed or have had their ownership changed this is the result of a local business buying up the favoured shops of our town," Bary said.

"And," I said.

"And what," Bary said.

"Well, why are you telling us this?" I asked.

"I'm telling you because I think you can help," Bary said.

"Help with what?" Chloe said.

"No enough of this I will not let you drag my daughters into another one of your crazy plans," My mum said as she dragged us out.

After we have left.

"Well that was rude," I said sounding assertive.

"No, it was smart last time you got involved in one of his plans you got arrested," My mum said.

"Correction I was taken to the police station for questioning," I said.

"You were a suspect," My mum said.

"Eyewitness," I said.

"Whatever I can't deal with this at the moment," My mum said.

"And I'm not sure that you are such a good influence on my daughter anymore," Phil said.

"Would you believe me if I said my act has improved since then?" I said.

"I can't believe you without proof, Kaitlin," Phil said making me give a pleading look at my mum.

"She has gotten better a lot better and I doubt that your daughter will pick up any outrageous habits and I am sure that Kaitlin will not want that to happen in the first place," My mum said looking at me and making me nod.

"Is that good enough?" I said trying not to sound like an asshole I knew I was on thin Ice with for a while but it's cracking.

"Dad I'm sure it's fine I am positive that Kaitlin has grown a brain since then and will know to think before she acts... plus you know me I'm always rational so I'll watch over her and make sure she doesn't do anything stupid," Chloe said taking my hand in hers.

"I guess that'll do for now," Phil said.

"Then, in that case, we are gonna hade back to 1212 see ya," I said as we begin to jog off and out of sight.

We get back and see Seth and Layla packing.

"Leaving so soon," I said.

"Well we need to get back to our respective colleges so yeah we need to get going," Seth said.

"Well have a safe trip back," I said as they zipped up their bags and made for the door.

"We'll be sure to visit around Easter time," Layla said with a wink as she closed to door.

"Your gonna find a way to get the details from this Bary guy aren't you," Chloe said the second the door was closed.

"Bary's theories may be kind of out there but he has always ended up being right in the end which is why I can't just ignore this so yes I am going to find out what he is on about this time," I said.

"Any idea what is happening this time with all these businesses buying up the favoured shops of our town?" Chloe asked.

"Not a clue but I'm working on it," I said.

"Well, detective Kaitlin you need a sidekick," Chloe said locking her finger with mine with our hands by our sides.

"Superheros don't always need a sidekick what I need is a trusted adviser," I said putting my forehead against hers.

"Is that a job offer?" Chloe said.

"I don't know can I trust your advice?" I said.

"You can trust this" Chloe said before kissing me.

"That'll do," I said and kissed her back.

We laugh with our lips still only a fingernail length apart I realize that we haven't eaten yet.

"You hungry?" I asked.

"Now that you mention it I'm starving" Chloe replied.

"Then find these things in the kitchen," I said writing a list of ingredients down and handing them to Chloe.

"What are you planning to make?" Chloe said reading the ingredients.

"You'll see," I say.

After Chloe has gathered the ingredients and I have all the things I need I gesture to her to go away and she reluctantly agrees and goes to the bedroom. I wink as she closes the door I begin cooking and about 30 minutes later my mum comes back with Phil.

"For me and Chloe," I said.

"Why is that?" My mum said.

"Limited ingredients," I said with a condescending smile.

My mum rolls her eyes and leaves me to it another hour later and I plate up the food I had made I put it on the table and knock on the door and Chloe comes out with a smile as she sees the food. We eat and talk as our parents watch the morning news as they always do at this time we talked about random stuff to throw our parents off the sent of what we plan to do. Later I call up Momo and ask her for a hand I explain our plan and she agrees she says she'll find a way to distract our mum and dad and knowing her she may explain it but I won't understand a word of it so I leave her to it. Later her plan is put into action and my mum and dad leave and say in that they won't be back until later tonight not wanting to waste time I don't ask why after Chloe and I are sure that They have left the building we make our way to Bary's door. He lets us in and we sit in his living room.

"So what's all this about?" I say.

Bary says nothing and just looks at Chloe as if to ask why she is here.

"She is my partner in this a detective needs an adviser," I say and Bary nods.

"What do you know of the Thine corporation?" Bary said.

"That they are well known for being involved in the shadiest business deals to ever be reported on the news they gave away large sums of money to criminal organizations without them knowing also in violation of labour laws," I said.

"You think they are buying up the favoured shops of our town?" Chloe said.

"Never no one in their right mind would trust them, unless they're using a puppet corporation," I said getting a now you see look from Bary.

"So we know they're using a puppet corporation what do you think their end goal is here?" I said.

"My guess to expand their empire the Thine empire to be exact just like they did with Hall Hill the seed of their empire" Bary said.

"So what do we do?" I asked.

"Find the puppet," Bary said.
