That's how it all began after that party we became really good friends but back then I wasn't sure that it was her I would find myself falling for I thought to myself as I stand on the beach as Samantha noticed me standing there.

"Uh hey Mell how are you," Samantha said and I could practically feel the guilt in her name.

"We'll give you some privacy" Kaitlin whispered to me.

"Sammy you're coming with us," Kaitlin said as she and her sister grabbed Sammy by the arm and dragged him off.

"Hey what the let go get off whats with you tow today," Sammy said as he got dragged off by Kaitlin and Chloe.

"So I know why your here and I can take a good guess at what is going through your head," Samantha said.

"Look I have never been good at this talking thing so... I'll play you," I say picking up the volleyball that Samantha was using.

"You want to play the captain of the volleyball team?" Samantha said with a sly smile.

"Ya, I do the first one to let the ball touch the ground loses," I said.

"What's the wager," Samantha said.

"The winner gets to decide where we stand as a thing," I said.

"Fine" Samantha said.

I throw the ball up like I've seen her do a hundred times during practice and then I hit it over the net and as expected Samantha gets to it and flies back over the net. I move under the ball and with both my hands sent it sailing over the net with as much force as I can it goes over Samantha's head she runs after it and with her speed gets to it and with one hit send it over the net. I get under it just in time and I see that it won't clear the net then out of nowhere a girl jumps and hits it over the net. The ball is then dug up by another girl and they say "One on one is boring mined if we lend a hand" I get up and see that it is Grace and Natalie from the volleyball team.

SAMANTHA'S P.O.V (2 MONTHS AGO)

"Hey," Mell said as she came up from behind me.

"Hey" I replied.

"So can we talk about you know what?" Mell asked.

"I don't know can we?" I said.

"FIne will we?" Mell asked as she stopped walking and it turned to face her.

"Is it true what they said?" I asked.

"Ya, it is," Mell said as she turned and looked down at the ground in embarrassment.

I close my eyes and took two steps towards her put my hand on her chin turned her face to mine and then kissed her.

"I did say you would be the one I would date when you asked me to remember," I said as she looked on still surprised.

"Well I'll see you after practice," I said as I made my way down the hall.

I get to the gym and see the team is already talking I walk over to see what the commotion is about.

"So there you have... Oh, Samantha your here good" Said the team co-captain Grace.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"It's team placement tryouts," Said Hanna with the usual amount of disgust.

"Right and that means?" I ask and she ignores me.

"It means that all spots are now available so we will be stepping down as co-captains and putting the captain spot out there for one of you depending on what you do within the next hour determining your spot on the team" Natalie the other co-captain said as she took over for Hanna.

"So how will you decide?" I asked.

"With some 4 on 4 games," Natalie said with excitement.

We play 4 on 4 for a full hour and all of us are put into different positions and situations that were designed to test us after the games were over I sit on the ground back on the wall as I catch my breath. As I tack a swig of water in an effort to cool myself down I see the others all except for Hanna gather around me and I get up not knowing why they are all looking at me.

"Something up?" I ask.

"CONGRATULATIONS NEW TEAM CAPTAIN," They all said.

"Huh I'm team captain but I didn't play all that well," I said.

"That wasn't the only thing we were judged on you did play a good game but you also were able to get the team to listen to you and obey even Hanna which as we all know hates you, it's no secret," Said Grace.

"Ya, and there is no need for a co-captain this time you do your captain job far better than the two of us you embody both what we had and what we were lacking so no need for a co-captain," Natalie said with a smile.

"Then my first order as team captain I want you two to be my second in command my advisers if you will just while I learn the ropes of being a captain," I said and they all smiled.

After I had changed back into my normal clothes I ran to the main school building looking for Mell after about ten minutes I see her and Jenny on the bleachers as they watch the boys practise. I run up to them and they invite me to sit with them.

"I have big news wheres Logan?" I asked.

"Um I think he said he was going to the library," Jenny said.

"Then let's go get him," I said as I grabbed Jenny and Mell by the hands and dragged them off.

We find Logan in the library and we drag or more like I drag him into an empty classroom with the others.

"So what's this big news you dragged us al her for," Mell asked.

"Guess who just became the new team captain of the volleyball team," I said.

"Shit no joke," Said Logan.

"No joke and you can tell who was pretty pissed," I said.

"I bet," Logan said with a laugh.

"You know what this means right?" Jenny said.

"What?" We all say looking at her.

"We have to celebrate duh," Jenny said.

"Well, what do think, fell like cutting loose for a number of hours we can invite the rest of the club excluding you know who?" Mell asked.

"Hmmmm I don't know do I or don't I?" I said mocking the others.

"We'll make it a celebration for the volleyball team's new era it will get them hyped and ready for upcoming tournaments," Jenny said.

"Then be sure to invite the right people," I said.
