CHAPTER 1.
Hayley walked up and down the Apartment she had just outside the Town of Mystic Falls running her fingers through her hair over and over. She was disconcerted, shocked, astounded, I mean it couldn't be true surely? it was a full moon and she hadn't turned, she had gone to a remote spot well away from the drama of the town AND SHE HAD NOT TURNED !!!!
There was only one reason a shewolf didn't turn and that was because she was pregnant, but she hadn't slept with anyone in six months other than Klaus Mikaelson and he was a vampire or well hybrid now, so she couldn't be pregnant.
Hayley continued to pace going over the same dialogue in her mind he must be able too. Breaking the curse had activated his wolf and wolves could procreate, she was pregnant and with the man that had a thousand enemies, what would they do to the child of Klaus Mikaelson, she shuddered to think. Did she even want a baby? she didn't know. She didn't have his phone number she couldn't ring him she would have to send him a letter to the Mikaelson Mansion in Mystic Falls, she knew they had all left Klaus and his siblings, she had no idea where surely his mail would be forwarded. Yes she would write him a letter and wait two weeks for his response then she would make plans, she had saved quite a sum of money, she lived frugally, she could go anywhere.
Two weeks came and went. No response from Klaus. Hayley pulled out the World map and looked around the world for locations she had passable Italian and French, she should pick a small Town in either of those Countries, surely supernaturals liked the cities. Her and the baby would be safer from them in a small town and no one knew she had sex with him. Although if the baby was supernatural at least a wolf, maybe a witch the baby might inherit Klaus's Mother's witch genes. Witches may be able to sense that or maybe the baby would give off magical currents. Witches always seemed to know each other, she would need a cloaking spell done on her baby, not here, and not in the US, she would wait until she got there, and put her finger on the map blind and picked a spot, Camogli, Liguria, on the coast in Northern Italy, perfect, Hayley thought.
Hayley booked her ticket one way under the name Hayley Michaels, then went online to look at houses for lease. She chose a small home with an enclosed yard a 15 minute walk from the town centre. That way she wouldn't need a car, she could get a job in a bar or coffee shop. Coffee shop would be better, being pregnant and no night shift. She packed her meagre belongings then she sat and wrote Klaus another letter putting the number 2 on the envelope so he at least had an idea of the sequence of events if she kept sending him letters, she would think about it. This was his child too, he had a right to be kept informed even if he wanted nothing to do with her and the baby.
