CHAPTER ONE.

"How are you feeling?" Hayley asked coming to sit beside him on the sofa and he glanced at her and took a sip of bourbon.

"I cannot believe I was able to be in the same room as our daughter that I could hold her, talk to her face to face, eat a meal with her, watch her sleep, wake the next day and she was there, that the bloody Hollow is dead, that I am free, my siblings are free of her, that Elijah regained his memories and has left to marry that woman, that our Daughter is back at school..." He took a deep breath...."And I have no idea what to do," He confessed and scowled when she laughed at him and his rapid speech and his openness with her after ignoring her phone calls and letters for years and he had been back a week and they had slipped back into that comfortable space they had together, partners for Hope.

"Well lucky for you I do, we have a job offer that will put us right where Hope is so we get to see her everyday and she can still be with her friends," She smirked at him.

"Oh for the love of the gods Hayley, what the hell makes you think I would be an acceptable teacher?  I cannot believe Alaric has suggested such proposition."

"He did actually, I thought Caroline was twisting his arm," She smirked at him and he looked at her blankly, she frowned having thought he would like that Caroline wanted him there but by the blank face and flat eyes that were looking back at her maybe not, she went on, "But she doesn't even know, Ric wants you to teach the vampires and he thinks having the evil Klaus Mikaelson as a teacher will be good for the kids and set them up for a cruel world," She smirked and now she got a smirk back from him, his eyes also held a mischievous light, "And he wants me to teach the wolves and now Hope has broken her curse I think it is a good idea, she gets both her parents there 24/7 and her friends and we get to help with the monster problem that Ric has finally confided in me about, he is out of his depth Klaus and Caroline is always away looking for ways to stop the twin merge, which means it has been falling on Hope to deal with the monsters because she is the strongest witch at the school, which makes my blood boil that she never told me, but you and I can protect her and it will be fun." He looked at her and laughed.

"Fun being teachers?" He laughed again, "Are we to live at the school?" She nodded,

"Ric has it all organised, I really want to get away from the city and this would be good for Hope, you said yourself you didn't know what to do, come on Hope's 15, it will only be for a few years."

"You want to run away from your human and pack," He surmised with a smirk.

"I do. Zara will be Alpha she has been my Beta for years and we will be back here for school breaks and Holidays and Declan..... well it was never serious."

"Have you told him that love? because from what I saw he thinks your in a deep loving relationship," He drawled as she rolled her eyes.

"He's human and knows nothing about the supernatural, how long was it going to last?"

"Forever if you turned him," He smirked and she snorted with disgust. Klaus chuckled, "Fine we will be teachers," He conceded and she smiled wide gripping his forearm and squeezing and she stood up,

"I'm going to pack, let's leave early in the morning or we could leave tonight..." He laughed at her impatience to be gone from here and to go to Hope.

"The morning at least that will give us time with Freya so she can deal with your broken hearted Romeo," He smirked again teasing her and she rolled her eyes at him again and vamped from the room in a hurry hearing his low chuckle Klaus smiled and stood up going to pack himself, he was looking forward to this new adventure.
