CHAPTER ONE.
Hope stood next to her Mom feeling shy at seeing her dad again after being away for six years and that scene she had astral travelled into, "Hello Hope," Klaus looked at her shyly himself knowing he would need to talk to her about what she had witnessed when she was younger but wasn't sure how to broach the subject with her, he would ask Hayley he decided.
"Hi," She replied shyly pressing closer to her Mom's side, "So Mom told me the Hollow is dead and you are home to stay." Hope looked at him and Klaus nodded.
"Yes your Aunt Freya found a solution along with Bonnie Bennett the Hollow is gone love."
"Okay...well that's good," Hope looked up at her Mom, "I have homework can I go and finish it I have an assignment due Monday and the teacher really goes off if we ask for an extension of time," Hope explained to her Mom.
"Sure honey go I'll call when dinner is ready," Hayley told her gently and Hope walked away turning back to look at her Dad who was watching her and she lowered her eyes and blushed hurrying up the stairs and they heard her door close.
"She hates me," Klaus sighed.
Hayley looked at him and shook her head, "She loves you she is just awkward she's a thirteen year old girl it is a weird time and will be for the next few years so get used to it. There will be fluctuating hormones, tears, screaming, door slamming you name it, " Hayley smiled at him but he didn't smile back.
"Come into the cellar I have to tell you something," Klaus asserted. And walked off to the wine cellar room Hayley followed behind him and sat on one of the bar stools as he poured himself a bourbon and drank it down then another and Hayley waited seeing he was agitated and upset and he was uncomfortable with what he was about to tell her.
"The reason I stopped ringing or writing to Hope and stopped taking your calls or reading your letters was because when she was seven she astral travelled and I was in the middle of tearing old enemies apart, soaked in their blood and limbs scattered everywhere, Hope was screaming and I yelled at her to get out....I haven't spoken to her since."
"O...kay...I knew it was something," Hayley rested her chin on her hand and was thoughtful for a moment, "Well you were killing family enemies to protect amnesia Elijah right?" She asked and he nodded. "You can just explain that to Hope that you have always protected your family and you were doing so when Hope saw you, why you stopped contact with her that's for you to explain whether it was because you were ashamed or guilty or whatever it was but it was not her fault you just didn't know how to explain it to her at such a young age, that your sorry your lack of contact hurt her if you are sorry..."
"Of course I'm bloody sorry for hurting her I'm a monster but not with her I love her," He snapped.
"I know you love her so just tell her that, she is a young girl that just wants her Dad's love she will forgive you, just explain it simply Klaus," Hayley patiently explained seeing him work himself up.
