CHAPTER 1.
Klaus woke on the soft Forest floor, "That was amazing," He said looking up at Elijah with a smile as Elijah threw his clothes at him, "How many days? Klaus asked.
"I have been tracking you for three days," Elijah replied, watching his brother dress. Klaus looked around the sun shining down brightly. He could not have imagined this is what it felt like to be a wolf again after breaking his curse, he felt liberated, balanced, "Niklaus our family."
Klaus looked at his brother, "Let's go," Elijah wondered did he mean let us go and get our family or let's go back to Mystic Falls, as he led the way to his car. Getting into the driver's seat Klaus got in beside him.
"Chicago Elijah they are in a storage unit in Chicago," Elijah nodded. Was this a ploy on Niklaus's part he wondered as he drove away.
Klaus was thinking about all the things he needed to do to get his possessions out of the Mystic Falls Mansion and get them into secure storage, deciding he was not going back to the Town of Mystic Falls. He was no longer interested in an army of hybrids, he was more interested in his wolf at the moment. The feral intensity of his wolf was exhilarating and exciting, he closed his eyes with a smile.
"Niklaus," Elijah said, Klaus opened his eyes seeing the storage unit.
"1333 Elijah, I dont have the key, just break the locks," Klaus said, getting out of the car and starting walking away.
"Where are you going, Niklaus?" Elijah asked curiously with a quizzical expression.
"Anywhere, away," Klaus replied, whooshing elsewhere.
Elijah shook his head, Niklaus would be back he always came back.
Klaus vampire sped to the house he had owned in Chicago from the 1920's in the affluent moneyed area of Winnetka. He went to the back of the well maintained property and found the hidden key. Opening the back door he smelt the furniture polish. He employed cleaners to come in every month. To clean, polish and keep the general maintenance and upkeep of the home. He had fond memories of Chicago and tried to come here every decade. Walking up to the bedroom seeing it the same as the decade before, he walked to the bathroom and took off his clothes, getting into the steaming shower, lathering his body with soap, washing the dirt from his run as a wolf away. He smiled to himself, he would go and celebrate at Gloria's bar, wondering if she was still alive, he hadn't been back there since the 20's.
Walking into Gloria's bar over nearly a hundred years later the jazz club was now modern and current with the times. The decor, lighting and bar all changed. Klaus weaved through the crush of people and made his way to the front of the bar where he saw Gloria.
"Well well, well if it isn't my favourite Original, what brings you back to Chicago and my bar?" She smirked.
"Time has been kind to you Gloria," He said complimenting her as she poured him a top shelf bourbon, "Feeling nostalgic, thought I'd drop in and see if you were still here." He replied relaxed.
"You broke your curse finally," She smiled, "Thought you'd be raising that hybrid army you always wanted. Not to many wolves in the Windy City," She smirked at him and Klaus chuckled.
"An army is not at the forefront of my mind at the moment." He confessed.
"Ah, the wolf is a balancing element, you're not going soft on me are you Klaus?" She teased.
"Unlikely love," Gloria laughed,
"Nice to see you, drink and enjoy," She said, putting a bottle of bourbon in front of him and moving up the bar to serve someone else, Klaus took a sip of his drink and looked around.
