Klaus kills Mikael before getting to New Orleans and breaks his Hybrid curse. Then becomes King of New Orleans and becomes friends with the Crescent Wolves who were on a decline. Klaus makes a deal with the current Alpha to protect the Crescents from their enemies in exchange for WILLING wolves to become his Hybrids. Hayley is one of those willing wolves. Klaus turns Hayley into a Hybrid.

CHAPTER ONE.
"So Jackson tell me do you have any wolves willing to become Hybrid's," Klaus demanded while sitting around the unlit fire at the Crescent camp with the Alpha of the Crescent pack.
"When you proposed this Klaus I didn't think there would be any wolves willing to become hybrids but I was wrong. I have four wolves willing to become hybrids. My cousin Oliver, Aiden, Keelin and a new wolf that has just found us. She didn't grow up with the pack her folks left decades ago when she was a baby, Hayley Marshall but she is a Labonair, Andrea Labonair. I'm not sure if the name means anything to you seeing you were cursed and haven't lived as a wolf long, but Labonair' are royal, their bloodlines go back to the beginning of cursed wolves. Her lineage is Alpha."
"And this Hayley with royal blood is willing to become a hybrid?" Klaus asked, intrigued by the notion of a royal blooded wolf becoming one of his hybrid's.
"Yeah she is."
"Is she trustworthy? She has just arrived. You don't know her. Why did her parents leave the pack? Surely that is unusual, the crescent pack has been in the bayou for centuries Jackson."
"Mary knew her folks, there was a fight among the Labonair' and the Scott family, another alpha line within the pack; it remained unresolved and was tearing the pack apart. Hayley's Father was Alpha at the time as Labonair' have always been, for the unity of the pack he stepped down and left with his family so the Scott's became Alpha. Half the pack was slaughtered by witches. Turns out Hayley's Dad had been right about his course of action. He never came back though, my Father took over as Alpha the Kenner's are an old bloodline, then I inherited alpha on his death. If I weren't married I could have married this Hayley and joined the Labonair Kenner bloodlines but....." Jackson grinned.
"You're not giving Camille up for anyone, even a Labonair," Klaus drawled.
Jackson shook his head, "No the O'Connell wolf bloodline is as old as mine. Kerian is an elder and Shaman and well you know I worship Cami so not happening even for a Labonair queen."
Klaus smirked, "Queen aren't you over dramatizing."
"Nah, the Labonair' were always different wolves to the rest of us. Stronger, faster, quicker healing capabilities, ruthless intelligent and fearless Klaus a Labonair will never back down from a fight. Hayley would make a worthy addition to your hybrid army."
