It started when he first snapped at you over your FaceTime call. You had called him to ask a simple question on which collar you should pick out for Dodger while you were browsing inside the pet store with him attached to your hip. You thought the blue looked nice, but with Christmas soon approaching, you thought about getting the deep shade of green.

When Chris answered the phone, he had it lying face up until his front camera was pointed towards the ceiling. Tapping away at the keys on his laptop in the background, you breathed out a quick sigh.

"What's up, babe?" He rushed the words.

"What color do you think I should get for Dodger's collar?" You asked your boyfriend in the sweetest and nicest tone you could muster, turning the camera around so it was facing Dodger. You placed the blue and green option against his skin, waiting for Chris to look at it. Only he never once picked the phone up to look, he just quickly spits out, "Blue" and kept typing.

That angered you slightly, but you shoved it into the back of your mind. "Could you maybe at least look?" You chuckled softly. Little did you know, that struck a serious nerve in Chris' body.

"What does it matter, Y/N?" He picked the phone up and glared into the camera, his eyes only softening a touch when he saw his beloved pet on the other side. "Blue, like I said." He snapped. As you were about to say something else, Chris hung up the phone. He never acted this way, only when he was under extreme amounts of stress.

You knew that his life had become slightly hectic within the last few months, but you didn't think it was bothering him that much. Chris always talked to you when he felt like he was about to drown in work, but lately, he hadn't confided in you about his issues.

That was just strike one.

Strike two and three came once you arrived home to see Scott already there.

"Hi, Scott!" You smiled, releasing Dodger from his leash and hanging it up by the door. Scott walked over and wrapped his arms around you for a tight hug. You adored Chris' younger brother. Once you and Chris started dating, Scott ultimately became your best friend. He was always your go-to on things when it came to his older brother if you were having issues, sometimes.

"Where's Chris?" You asked, your heart still slightly stinging from a little while ago when he snapped at you over FaceTime.

Scott sighed. "Slaving away in his office, I guess. He spoke to me once but hasn't said anything else." He shrugged his shoulders as he took a seat on the couch. You nodded your head.

"I think he's just stressed." You summed it up before heading into the kitchen.

"Are you staying for dinner?" You asked him. Scott's eyes perked up at the mention of dinner and he wiggled his eyebrows, racing into the kitchen where you were.

"Tell me what you need help with." He smiled. You told him to go ahead and start chopping vegetables for you to roast while you started on the chicken. Before long, the house was filled with the delicious aroma of your cooking. Scott adored your cooking, almost more than Chris.

A little over an hour later, you had the plates fixed and settled on the table, calling for your boyfriend.

"Chris!" You yelled. "Dinner's ready, babe."
