It has been two days since Taehyung left for Canada, and Jungkook has been working at the pharmacy for longer hours than before, he preferred to be busy than just stay at the house.
This, this is why he insisted on working even though he didn't need to, or at least for a few years as his parents had suggested. To have a life outside of his relationships. Jimin was now specializing a his medical field, soon enough he will be a very busy doctor, his older brother was constantly managing their companies abroad. He was definitely not going to spend all his time with his parents, "I would get dangerously fat, they will just keep stuffing me food" he though to himself.
And Taehyung, well, he didn't like to think too much about the time he gets to spend with the elder because, it sometimes felt like something that happens by chance. He holds a big position in his company, so it is expected for him to be busy, he might get promoted soon, so, maybe right now he needs to focus on his career, he often tried to assure himself with these thoughts.
Now sitting in one of the offices, he called Jimin. "Yes, I just nocked of right now, I worked over time yesterday, so I can leave early today" Jimin explained, "okay, I will come pick you up, I just finished up here too" Jungkook replied. He packed up his stuff and bid the staff goodbye before heading out.
Some time later he was in front of the hospital, his friend was easy to spot, given his blond hair and the bright smile that he had on as soon as they made eye contact.
"So what's this?" Jimin asked pointing at the other's ring, "oh, it's a gift from Taehyung" Jungkook said, tracing it and remembering what the elder said it meant, and also trying not to think about what happened before that, he smiled at the thought, "o wow, Taehyung is trying to put a ring on it before you even hit 25" Jimin said chuckling as they headed to the younger's car.
"What are we gonna do about your car" Jungkook asked, looking over at Jimin's car that was not too far away from where they stood, "it's okay, we can leave it here, I will ask Yoongi to drop me off tomorrow then I will get it" Jimin replied.
"So how is that going, you and Yoongi?, you guys are practically married now" Jungkook asked as they drove out of the hospital gates. "Don't be silly" Jimin replied, though he couldn't argue with his friends observation.
Him and Yoongi have been dating for over 4 years now, and Jimin wouldn't say he was eager, but the idea of marriage was one he liked, a lot, especially if it's to Yoongi.
"I don't know, maybe he is not there yet, you know, the whole marriage thing, and I am busy with medical school and all" Jimin said, sounding a bit disappointed in himself with reasons he came up with. "You sound like you are ready, why don't you ask him?" Jungkook said plainly, "and you know, that whole I am busy with work thing, I don't think you should use that as a reason to put off certain things, life goes by pretty fast" Jungkook continued.
This was meant to be advice for Jimin, but he probably needed it too "I am sorry I am late, I was a bit busy with work", he had become so familiar with the line that it felt like it was carved in his mind, always there, constantly.
"Hey Kook!" Jimin repeated a bit louder to get his attention "are you okay?" he asked, "o yeah, sorry I was just thinking of something, anyways, you and Yoongi, ask him or you can just bring up the conversation and see his reaction to it" Jungkook said.
"Okay, I will do that" Jimin replied, leaning back further in his chair. "Did you....ah never mind" Jimin tried to speak, "go on, just ask, you know I won't stop wondering about if you just stop there" Jungkook said with his eyes fixed on the road.
"Did you tell Taehyung what happened the other day? we never got to talk about it ever since that day" Jimin asked, and Jungkook knew what he was referring to. For a split second, Jungkook was about to tell the truth but decided not to, "yeah, uhm we talked about it, it's all good now" he lied, he was glad that he was driving right now otherwise lying to Jimin's face would be near impossible.
Jimin wanted to ask more, but he decided against it, it wasn't exactly the type pf conversation one would like to have for any longer than necessary.
He still felt guilty, no matter how many times Jungkook told him it was not his fault, he couldn't help but fell responsible. Jungkook was only twenty-one at the time and he suggested for them to go to the party, he left him alone, he should have been with him during the whole night, but he wasn't, he still couldn't forget that night, if he could take all back, he would.
"And here we are" Jungkook announced, snapping the other one out of his thoughts. "And where is here?" Jimin asked looking around. "Come" Jungkook instructed as he got out of the car.
It was a new restaurant Jungkook had visited recently and at the time he couldn't help but be in awe of how beautiful the place was and the fact that it was something Jimin would totally love. "You know, sometimes I forget that you are actually filthy rich, and today I chose to enjoy that privilege, we are trying everything here" Jimin said ignoring the looks he was getting from the other.
They spent a great amount of time at the restaurant with Jimin taking countless picture, and of course Jungkook was enjoying this.
Later they headed to the mall, and did some shopping, Jungkook loved these moments with his best friend, he could forget about everything else, and he did.
