Going back, to her (Loki)

"Do you really think it's a good idea to go back to Earth?"
"Of course, people of Earth love me."
"Let me rephrase that. Do you really think it's a good idea to bring me back to Earth?"
"Of course. I wouldn't worry brother. She will be there, waiting for you."
"Who?"
"(y/n)."
"What makes you think that? Before you left me to face Odin's charges on Asgard, she told me she hated me. She despised me. She didn't love me!"
"You can't blame her. You practically destroyed her home."
"I don't need to be reminded, thanks."
"Loki, if lady (y/n) really loves you. She will be there. After all her father is one of them."
"Oh he will kill me when we get there."
"Just fake it, like you always do."

The ship landed nearby the new Avengers compound that they had built. It's been years since I've seen (y/n). Not a single day passed by that I hadn't thought of her, dreamed of her, loved her. She was one of the few reasons, if not the only one, I broke off the attack on New York. The pain in her eyes when I found her in her destroyed bedroom after one of the Chitauri had fired away on the Stark Tower. Her body was wounded, her face scarred. Tears streaming down her eyes as she laid on the bed, covered with rocks and dust. The bed we had made love in.

It was our secret. I had met her on Midgard a little before the Avengers found out about my plans. In some ways we were able to meet. I didn't show her my true form, my real name. It would've made things more difficult. We fell in love. A classical love story, I know, but it happened. I was invited over to her place, the Tower. It was then that I found out it was the perfect place to open the portal to let the Chitauri enter. But it was also then that we shared our love with one another.

Her father, Tony, was furious. I ran away. Then when I found her on her bed, wounded and helpless, my heart broke into millions of pieces. A heart many people didn't believe I had and if I did it was frozen. She screamed and shouted at me.

"I loved you! How could you do this to me?"
"(y/n) I love you more than anything. I never had-"
"Who are you really? What do you want from me?"
"Your love, but I am not worthy of it. I'll never be. Goodbye (y/n)."

And then I sent her into a green mist. She disappeared. She was at a safer place to be. If anything would have happened to her, I would've never forgiven myself. She was sent off to Asgard. Frigga's chambers. My mother took care of her. She healed her wounds, kept her safe. Tony got furious once again. He was going to kill me for sending his daughter off to another world, but Thor assured the billionaire that he would bring her back hom as soon as he delivered me to Odin. And he had kept his promise.

I was imprisoned, (y/n) taken back to Midgard. I never got the chance to explain myself to her. I never saw her again, though I tried through using the Tesseract. The last thing I saw was the fear and pain in her eyes.

My brother and I walked out the ship. The Asgardian people were given food and drinks while they camped in the ship. I saw Stark talking to Rogers in the doorway, both men wearing sunglasses. They stepped outside.

A young woman approached Stark. She was wearing green and black colours. A light giving device in her hand. She showed it to him and he gave her a kiss on her cheeck.

(y/n)

She giggled and walked back inside. Tony spotted me. He grew furious.
"Stay calm", Rogers said. He patted his shoulder and the two of them approached us.

"Thor", they greeted my brother.
"Tony! Steve", he said happily as he pulled them in for a hug.
"Reindeer Games", Tony said cold.
"You make me believe I am not the only Frost Giant walking around in this realm", I said. He laughed stiffly and told us to go inside.

"Just to make things clear. You stay away from (y/n)", Tony threatened me.
"I wouldn't dare to touch her."
"I hope you mean it."

"Did someone mention my name-", she walked up to us. She stumbled a little bit backwards when our eyes met.
"Loki", she whispered.
"Hi", I said simply before Tony would stab me. Or even worse, before she would. I wouldn't be surprised if she'd did. I wouldn't mind either. If I have to die, then let it be by her hand.

"(y/n) I-"
"Not now Loki. I- I need to-", she stuttered before running away.
"See brother, everything's fine", Thor patted my shoulder. I scoffed and we went to the living room for the meeting.

We sat down on the couch and watched Tony and Bruce explaining the plan. (y/n) sat at the end of the couch, elegant as ever. A goddess. My goddess. I looked at her from the opposite side of the couch, next to my brother. I didn't listen to what they were saying. I heard infinity stones being mentioned and going back in time to retrieve them.

I didn't listen. I only had eyes for (y/n). Our eyes met once more. She wanted to look away, but she got lured to my gaze again. I gave her a little smile. Thor pulled my hair.
"Pay attention", he said.

The meeting ended and we got scattered around the compound. I wandered around the building, not knowing where the corridors lead to. I stopped at the doors of a balcony. I opened the door and walked outside. I leaned on the handrail and looked down. On the ground were the Winter Soldier and Rogers training.

"Enjoying the view", a sweet, familiar voice asked me.
"It's unwise to be in my company now (y/n)."
"I do not care."
"Can you ever forgive me", I asked her.
"I can. The question is if I want that?"
"What is the answer?"
"Give me a reason to forgive you."

She stepped closer, our chests nearly touching. Uncautiously, my hand laid around her waist, pulling her closer. Her arms wrapped around me, her hands playing with my hair.
"I like the costume change. Although I do prefer the green leather and leather armour."
I laughed and looked down into her eyes. The eyes that left me heartbroken. This time they didn't carry hate, fear and pain. No, they carried something different. Confidence. There was something else too. If I didn't know better I would say love.

She pulled me down by my neck. I closed my eyes, letting her do whatever she wanted. Our noses brushed against one another. Breaths mingled. I felt her lips touch mine. It was hesitant at first, but ended out passionate.

Flashbacks played through my mind. The attack, the lovemaking, the threatening of Tony. I pulled back, not meeting her gaze.
"Loki", she whispered as she tried to look into my eyes. I looked down at the floor.
"This is asking for trouble (y/n)."
"Don't you like making trouble? I believed you were the God of Mischief", she mocked.
"Loki, I want to love you. I never stopped loving you. We can make it out of this mess."

Before any other word was said that we might regret, I pulled her closer and kissed her again. She was passionate. She craved it. I craved her too. I never wanted any other woman by my side than her.

"I love you (y/n)."
"I love you popsicle."
"(y/n)..."
"Fine. I love you Loki."
