Prom memories

From my Summer of Whump 2022 collection.

'Got something to show you! These photos originally got lost at one point, but my superior digging skills found them again!' Hetty proudly said.

'Wait, are those your old prom photos? Wow! You looked amazing!' Granger replied, amazed.

'Yes! One of only a few times that I liked wearing a dress.'

'What was your date like?'

'Oh, I didn't bring a date. No one seemed good enough for me to want to take to prom. But right after I was crowned Prom Queen, everyone wanted to dance with me! It was 1 of the most exciting nights of my life. How was your prom?' Hetty asked.

'Not that great, unfortunately. The girl I was supposed to go with ditched me last minute, so I went by myself. And guess who I saw when I got there: My original date, dancing with the linebacker from the football team!'

'Oh my! That's horrible.'

'Yeah. I got so upset, I ran right out of there and just, ran towards the woods that were nearby. I even ran through a bush of poison ivy by accident! I was so miserable.' Granger replied, unhappily.

Sympathetically rubbing his arm. 'What she did, was awful. And you didn't deserve that.'

'My life has been 1 love disaster after another. Before I finally knew you were the one, I thought I'd be alone forever, and miserable. And now I sound like a love sick puppy.'

'No! (chuckle). No, you don't. Well, maybe a little. But that's not the point! The point is, you eventually found your soulmate. And, (holding his hand), she loves you very much.' Hetty replied, smiling.

Smiling. 'And I love her back.'
