Nightmares again

Note: Sorry for the lack of updates. I've been busy.

This 1 is from my Whumpcember 2023 collection.

'The building was on fire, I was racing to get out, and then I found myself trapped in a corner. I was sure that was it for me. And then I woke up in a big sweat.' Granger said.

'Yikes! That's some nightmare. Hetty said that these dreams have been happening recently, and possible reason for them?' Nate asked.

'Not sure. Nervous about possibly being killed, maybe. And why did she even arrange this talk any way? My dreams are not her business!'

'She says that it's because she doesn't want to keep waking up next to a sweaty man, and she also said that 4 days ago, you woke up kicking off all the covers, including on her bedside!'

'I had a nightmare that I was drowning! Sheesh.' Granger said.

'She's concerned about you. Maybe you should try to take this a bit more seriously.' Nate suggested.

Granger wanted to complain, but knowing Hetty, she wasn't going to let it go until there was a solution.

'Okay fine. I guess 1 possible reason for all this is, I had a near miss last week with a boat. I almost fell out, and sharks were very close by. Callen got me at the right time, thankfully, and I told him not to tell Hetty because I just didn't want to. Then the nightmares started right after. I didn't want her to know because I didn't want her to sorry about every single part of my life that goes awry, but, that's not really a good idea right now, is it?'

'From what I've heard, Marriage is about sharing things with your spouse and I'd say also not keeping things from each other, but that obviously won't be happening. Is it also because you feel she worries too much?' Nate asked.

'Yes! She's always worried about me in some way. It's concerning. Like, does she always have to worry?'

'Hate to tell you, bub. But that's what love is.' Nate said. 'I'm sure there are times when you're worried about her without really thinking it.'

Granger opened his mouth to say something, but then closed it.

'My advice: Be honest with her about how you feel. I know that might seem a bit difficult, but it really is the best policy.'

'Spies can be honest too, you know. It's just difficult sometimes when you're used to deceiving others.' Granger replied.

That night, Granger told Hetty what was really going on. She said she understood and said she would try not to worry so much.

That promise didn't even last 24 hours.
