It took a lot of scrubbing, but Granger thought he finally got the last of the blood off his hands.
'You okay? You were in there a while.' Hetty asked when he came out of the bathroom.
'Yeah, yeah. Just took a while to wash my hands.' Granger replied, stuttering a bit.
'Look, it's normal to be nervous when you get blood all over you. Especially when you're trying to keeps someone from bleeding out.'
'I barely managed to save him! That bullet really went into his side!'
'I checked with the hospital, the guy you managed to save will live. You should feel proud of yourself!' Hetty insisted.
Granger wasn't really interested. He shuffled up to Hetty's office.
'Been a while since you've had blood all over your hands, huh?' Hetty asked while pouring the Scotch.
'You can say that.' Granger replied.
'Well, I sympathize. It's not a good feeling.'
'Thank you. And that better be the strongest stuff you've got.'
'Now Owen, you know I like to try to take the edge off. But I also like to try to not deliberately get drunk because then 1 of us would have to ask for a ride home.' Hetty reminded him.
'You say that because you act really silly when drunk.' Granger replied.
Hetty shot him a bad look.
