"You wanted to see me?" Uraraka mumbled shyly as she entered my office, closing the door behind her.
"Yes," I responded with a sad smile as I gestured to the chair on the opposite side of the desk. I closed the file in front of me as she took a seat, not quite making eye contact. Her brown irises were focused on the brown mahogany desk. "I wanted to talk about what happened last Saturday," I informed with a heavy sigh. I had to wait until her week vacation was over, so this was long overdue.
"Are you going to dismiss me?" She questioned quietly. We didn't fire heroes from our agencies; we dismissed them, which gave them a chance to go to another agency.
"You never ignore a call if you're able to pick it up while you're patrolling." I started with a deep breath, causing her to tense up. "What if we were actually fighting the U.A. Killer, and I needed your backup? That one mistake could have cost Kacchan and me our lives, plus the lives of everybody else he was able to get to." She clenched her fists against her legs, still staring at the desk. She nodded in response, knowing I didn't like to be interrupted when I was trying to make a point. "However, I understand why you did. I know you were upset because of Kacchan and me. I'm sorry for how he treated you in the elevator, and I'm sorry that I didn't stand up for you. You're my best friend, and I should have had your back." She slowly looked up at me. I watched the tears pour down her face, and my chest felt tight.
"I'm sorry for what I was doing." She whispered as she brought her right hand up, wiping the tears away from her pale skin. "You've told me several times that you didn't want to date anybody, and I just kept pushing and pushing. I didn't realize it made you so uncomfortable that Bakugo had to intervene."
"It's alright," I said with a sad smile. "Uraraka, I'm not dismissing you." She dropped her head and let out a sigh of relief before I could finish that sentence. "However," I started, causing her to look up at me again. "There are consequences to your actions."
"I'll accept whatever consequences you give me." She whispered, happy but sad at the same time.
"You're suspended for the next three days. You may return to work on Friday morning."
"Okay." She nodded, pushing herself from her seat. "Thank you, Deku."
"Go home and get some rest," I said with a sad smile. Suspending her was the last thing I wanted to do, but I couldn't let her go. Especially since all the work-study students knew she ignored that call. I can't be sending them out to the real world, letting them think it's okay to copy her actions. She didn't say anything else as she closed the door, leaving me in silence again. I let out a sigh of relief, glad she took it so well. The silence didn't last long as another knock erupted on my door. I looked at the clock, not realizing it was already noon. Time flies by when you're busy doing so much paperwork.
"Come in!" I yelled. The door opened quickly, revealing my lawyer. He was a short round man with a full head of black, curly hair. Not only was every agency required to have lawyers, but he was also my personal lawyer and a great help to me while I was trying to figure everything out from being sick. Today was the appointment I didn't look forward to at all. Today, we were finalizing a few things on my will.
"Hello, Takashi," I said with a sad smile as he shut the door behind him.
"Hello, Deku." He responded as he took a seat across from me. "I know you have a busy day, so we'll jump right into it."
"How much of my will do I have left to do?" I asked with a heavy sigh. I've been putting it off as long as possible, but I can't anymore. I'm breaching eleven and a half months left to live, and I wasn't sure if I would have all that anyway.
