22. Not You

The next few days of school went by fast but it seemed like no matter where I went I ran into Eddie. And one time I really did run into him since I wasn't paying attention. I almost fell over till he caught me. When he touched my skin I felt that electric shock that I always got at his touch. I quickly got away mumbling a thank you as I left. After that he didn't try to talk to me the rest of the week, but I did catch him starting at me every once in a while.

I did fill Monica and Dan in on everything to and they were really upset for me. I had gone over to Monica's house Tuesday and Dan came by so I could talk to them. They really are some wonderful friends I wish they would of been in town for all of this.

It was now Friday and I was home from school. The party was tonight and I was feeling a bit better and I wanted to have some fun. I go to my closet to look for an outfit and I pull out a short black skirt and white belt to hang over it. Then a long sleeved white and blank crop top and black ankle boots. For jewelry I grab some bangle bracelets and a couple of chain necklaces.

I decide i want to smoke a joint to calm my nerves down then I go get dressed. I pull my hair up into a messy bun and put on some light makeup. I look myself over in the mirror and smile, for once I like how I'm looking and its giving a bit of a confidence  boost. I grab my bag throw my cigarettes in and a few joints then call Steve since he offered to be the driver tonight, he was also getting Nancy and Robin. Since I was the first one ready (shocker)  he said he would com pick me up and then get the others.

I sit outside on the porch and wait for Steve luckily it doesn't take him long to get to my house and I walk over to his car.

"Hey Jade ."
"Hey " I say getting in his car and buckle myself in.
"Excited for tonight?"
"I guess." I laugh. "I just need to relax and let loos."
He laughs and starts to drive away rom my house.
"So have you asked Nancy out yet?"
"No" he tells me.
I slap him on the shoulder.
"Hey driving here." He says
"Come on you need to ask , I bet you she will say yes, just ask her out on a date. And I'm sorry I haven't been able to help you with her with everything going on I got wrapped up in my own shit, but I want you to know she does talk about you when we have hung out and you make her blush."
I see Steve smile, "I'm thinking of doing it tonight, but Jade don't worry about not being able to help because really you did."
"Good." I say and smile. Just because my love life is shit doesn't mean I want my friends to be that way.

We soon get to Robin's house and she jumped into the back greeting us both and next we have to back tract to Nancy's since she wasn't ready. When she comes out of here house she looked so cute in some tight jeans and a red fitted top. We all said hi and Steve drives us to the party.

When we get there I start to get nervous again. What if Eddie shows up? What if I see him with another girl? ugh we're not together i tell my self but I know if I see him with someone else it would just brake me down completely. Pushing that aside I take a deep breath in and get out of the car with the others. Tonight I'm going to have fun.

We enter the house and it's pretty packed with people already and the music is blaring. Robbin turns to me and grabbed my hand.
"We need drinks." She says loudly and pulls me into the crowed of people and he find our way to the kitchen. We find some beer and start our night of drinking.

I was really enjoying myself tonight and having fun with Robin. We had taken a few shots and have also had a few beers so I was feeling pretty good. We then go into the living room where people were dancing. Me and Robin started to dance together, laughing and smiling the whole time. She knew how get me to laugh and just relax.

As we dance I feel as if someone was watching me. So I started looking around as I danced and my eyes lock on Eddie. He was leaning against the wall drinking a beer and watching me. My body started to tingle and my stomach knotted up. His dark eyes were fallowing every move I made. I look away from him because I could feel my heart start to race and I started thinking about his lips pressing against mine and his big hands roaming all over my body, NO! I thought this has to stop.
