30. What do we do now

This will be a shorter chapter so I'm sorry for that.

I nock on Nancy's door and she answers it pretty quickly.
"Jade oh my god how are you." She says pulling me into a hug.
"Hey I need to talk to you." I say
"Yeah come in." She moves out of the way to let me in. When I'm in she shuts the door behind me and locks it.
"We need to get everyone together and talk." I say
"What, why?"
"I talked to Eddie today when I went back to the hospital. I don't want to go over this a bunch of times so can you have Mike use his walkie to get some of the others over here and I can call the rest of them."
"Yeah ok, let me go talk to Mike." She says
"I'll call some of the others if it's ok to use your phone." I was thinking about Monica and Dan and how I need to tell them how to get here since they have never been over to Nancy's.
"Yeah that's fine." She tells me and goes up the stairs to talk to Mike.

I go the phone and dial Monica first. She answers and I tell her that her and Dan need to come to Nancy's house. I quickly tell her about Paul and give her Nancy's address, she says they will be right over. Next I call Robin and she's tells me she can call Steve and make sure he comes over. Soon Nancy comes back down and tells me Mike got ahold of Dustin, Max and Lucas and they will all be here soon. Nancy and I head to the basement and Mike says he'll wait upstairs and get the door. As we wait I start pacing back and forth and I can Nancy watching me.

"Is it really this bad?" She asks me.
I stop moving and look over to her then nod my head.
" I don't know where Paul would stop." I say.
She just looks at me and doesn't say anything else.

Slowly people start to come in but I wait for everyone to get here before I start talking. Everyone sits down in the basement when they get and and just watch me. The last person to get here was Robin.

"So what's going on?" Monica asks
"Yeah Im confused as to why we are all here." Steve says
I take a deep breath in.
"Ok so you all know my ex Paul is back and he's been harassing me daily. Well when I went to see my mom in the hospital.." I get cut off.
"Your mom is I the hospital..like she's hurt?"Dan says

Well shit that's right I forgot to tell Monica and Dan. I knew the others probably already knew since I'm sure Nancy Robin and Max had said something. Right after she asked that my eyes start to feel with tears.

"My mom was in a car accident Saturday night...she's... she's in a coma and ....we .. uh...don't know when she will wake up." I say and whipe the tears from my eyes.
Monica quickly jumps up and pulls me into a hug and I hug her back.
"Im sorry I didn't tell you sooner." I tell her.
"No it's ok I mean it did just happen and Dan and I have been caught up in our own shit, I'm sorry I haven't made more time for you." She tells me.
"It's ok it's on my end as well." I pull away from her and she sits back down.
"So yeah, I was visiting my mom that night she was in the accident and Robin and I found out Eddie was in the hospital but we didn't know why. So when I went today I went to visit him and we'll, Paul, Jason and Derrick paid him a visit Friday night and beat the shit out of him."
They whole group gasp.
"Why?" Dustin asks
"Because he's been sticking up for me in front of Paul. But Paul told him to tell me that  he will have me one way or another. And that none of my friends better get in the way or they will end up like Eddie." I say.

They all sit in silence for a bit and look at one another.
"We'll you not going to give into him, we won't let him get to you." Steve says.
"I don't want to but..."
"No Jade we know what he has done." Monica cuts in.
"Yeah you have a better support system now." Dan says waving his hands around the room.
"No fake friends this time." Nancy tells me.

My eyes start to tear up again looking at everyone in the room, I feel so overwhelmed with the love they are showing me.

"I don't want any of you to get hurt and I also don't want anything to do with him." I say
"Why not go to the cops." Mike asks
"I really don't have proof or anything Eddie said he didn't know who jumped him to the cops and Paul's dad is on the police force."
" Shit I forge his dad was a cop." Dan says
"Yeah I mean if we could get something written from him we would have prof but he's pretty sly about what he does."
"Did you ever report him?" Lucas asks
"No I was to scared , with his dad being a cop to I didn't know if he would get the rest of the force to not believe me or something, plus Paul scared me."
They all go quiet again.

"So what are we going to do?" Robin asks.
I look at them because I really have no clue. Then it's Nancy who speaks up.
"There is more of us then him and his friends ." She says.
"So what we kick his ass?" Max asks
"No, but we could try collecting evidence if we get enough we could still go to the cops one that's not his dad."
"We would need pictures or something written by him." Robin says.
"That's going to be hard, but I mean does anyone have a polorode camera? We can start taking pictures of anything damaged or pictures of them doing something they shouldn't, we won't get anything in writing from him."
"I have one." Nancy says
"Me to." Robin says.
We all shake our head.
"One thing I will say is I think you should all keep yourself safe."
"What do you mean." Dustin asks.

I reach into my pocket and pull out my knife.

"My mom gave this to me the day before her accident, she said she got it after I told her Paul came back."
"So we should all get knives?" Lucas asks.
"Just something , even mace or pepper spray is good, I'm going to get some for myself as well."
"I have a couple of guns." Nancy says.
We all go quiet and look at her.
"You Nancy wheeler have a couple of guns?" Monica says surprised.
"Yeah just for protection."
"That's pretty cool." Max says.
"I don't want anyone going to jail over him." I say.
"I won't but if him and his friends come after me and I have a gun on me I won't hesitate to use it." Nancy says.
"Just be carful, I just wanted you all to know what was going on. Paul is horrible and I don't know how far he will take this. You all mean so much to me no matter how long I have know you, each one of you has helped me in one way or another."

They all smile at me.
"Will figure something out." Dustin says.
"Yeah we want you safe as well." Max says.
"Thank you." I say and give a small smile.
"Um, should you maybe not stay at your house?" Lucas asks
"No I have to, but I'm getting Eddie from the hospital tomorrow and I'm having him stay with me. I don't want him at the trailer. And that way there will be me and him."
"But Paul knows ware you live, and um Eddie is hurt so what could he do." Says Mike
"Yeah but it's a house he would have to brake a window or something and I can call the police, he won't risk it, even with his dad on the force that would look really bad for him. As far as Eddie goes I don't think Paul will do anything just yet. So I'm hoping he will be able to heal up good."
"Ok, but do you think you will be ok tonight?" Steve asks
"I hope so, I have my knife, if he does anything I'm not afraid to stab him if I have to." I say.

We all agree we should at least try to stay in groups when we can so we're not alone. They don't want me alone but I didn't want anyone staying with me tonight. I wasn't feeling stable and my emotions were everywhere, I didn't want to worry anyone. We soon end out little meeting and start to say by to each other when Robin Max and Nancy keep me behind.

"Hey, I know this isn't the time to ask or anything but, did you and Eddie get back together?" Nancy asks.
My cheeks start to heat up and the girls look at me and smile.
"You deserve some happiness Jade, even with everything going on." Nancy tells me.
"That boy will do everything he can to keep you safe." Robin says.
I smile "I just don't want Paul to mess this up, I'm finally feeling happy and now he comes into town. Thought the first time I saw him kinda drove me and Eddie to talk again."
"To bad he wasn't just visiting." Max says.
"Tell me about it, we'll I need to go, we all need some sleep, Max do you need a ride home." I ask her.
"I'm going to give her one." Robin says.
"Ok I'll see you girls at school tomorrow, Nancy please stay safe and keep in touch."
"I will. " she says and gives me a hug."

I leave Nancy's house and head home, watching all the cars around me I'm so paranoid now.

When I get home I run to the door unlocking it as fast as I can and slam it shit behind me making sure it's locked. I check all the window and back door to make sure they are all shut and locked, before I head to my room in the basement.

It takes me a long time to pass out , my mind was filled with everything going on. Will my life always be full of drama? Will it ever calm down?

Ok I know I said no cheaper today but here you go. I'll be typing up more today so hopefully get one out to you tomorrow. This weekend I'll probably hold off on any new chapters so I can't catch up typing it all up.
