Upon entering the McNulty household, the babies all took in their surroundings as many decorations littered the onestory household.
"I didn't know Timmy's house turneded into a haunty house." Lil commented
Meanwhile, Chuckie let out a fearful gasp as a fake spider dropped from the ceiling in front of him, quickly hiding behind Tommy.
"Let's go back you guys! Maybe Angelica being a werewuff won't be so bad." Chuckie stammered, shaking in fear.
"We can't lets her turn into a werewuff Chuckie, then she'll turn us all into werewuffs." Tommy replied.
"Yeah and I don't wants to be a werewuff." Savannah chimed in.
"Me neither." Dil also replied.
Chuckie sighed, even if he didn't want to continue through the haunted house he sure didn't want to become an actual werewolf. Thinking he was actually one the previous year was scary enough.
"Let's just get this over with..." Chuckie groaned.
"Here Chuckie, holds my hand! Then it won't be so scary." Kimi offered, holding out her hand
"Thanks, Kimi" Chuckie thanked his sibling, holding onto her hand.
Making their way towards the kitchen in the McNulty house, they made their way to the side of the house where all the bathroom and all the bedrooms of the McNulty family were.
"Okay you guys, I thinks the bathroom is over heres. There should be stickies in there." Tommy beamed, he had recalled what the McNulty house looked like during the day time when he and his friends had come for a birthday party once before a long while back before they even met Kimi.
"But Tommy, how are we gonna knows which room is the bathroom?" Dil asked.
"Yeah there's lots of doors." Savannah frowned, spying the many doors that littered the hallway.
"Hmm, I guess we're going to have to checks all of them." Tommy said, looking down the hall before turning back to the group. "Okay, Phil and Lil you checks the firstest two rooms, Chuckie and Kimi the nextest ones, and Dilly, Savannah and I will check the lastest two." Tommy explained the plan to the group as they all nodded in agreement
"But you guys, what if a big scary monster comes out and eats one of us without everybody else knowing?" Chuckie whined in concern
"Uhm, hmm good point. I guess if a big monster is trying to gets and eats you then scream really loud so we can all comes and stops it together since all the rooms are close to each other." Tommy pondered, as he quickly came to a solution to hopefully relieve some of Chuckie's worries
With that everyone split up to look in each room to find the bathroom. Dil and Savannah going into the designated search room together to have a look around
"You sees anything, Savannah?" Dil asked as they peeked into what they could vaguely make out as a bedroom
"Nuh uh, it's too dark to see nothing. Maybe we should finds the flicker for the lights." Savannah shook her head as she suggested finding the light.
"Good idea, come on." Dil agreed as he toddled into the room, Savannah following in behind him.
Making out a crib and a toddler bed and toys littered across the room's floor, the two could only assume that the room belonged to the two youngest McNulty brothers. Dil and Savannah continued their search for the lightswitch when Dil accidentally bumped into the jack in a box toy in front of him causing they toy's jack to activate as it sprung out suddenly. Screaming in shock, the two toddlers jumped and tumbled backwards onto the floor. As a result of them falling backwards, Savannah's back bumped into the door, closing it shut behind them. Recovering, Dil got up as he noticed the toy on the floor as he sighed in relief.
"Fhew it's just a jackie in a box." Dil said, gently kicking the toy aside
"Uh oh, I think we're stuckeded in here now, Dil." Savannah, noticing it was now even darker in the room now that the door was closed.
"Let's just finds that light switch, maybe once we can sees better we can opens the door." Dil insisted
Savannah, nodding in agreement, got up from her spot as she and Dil began scanning the room for the lightswitch to turn on the lights in the room. Carefully moving across the floor to not accidentally set off anymore toys that might spook them.
Meanwhile, the adults were having a great time over at the senior center auditorium with everyone mingling amongst each other.
"Thanks again for inviting us Pop, this party is just wonderful." Didi thanked her father-in-law who was dressed in a ghost costume.
"Aw shucks, Lulu couldn't leave you youngins out of the fun. Isn't that right Lulu?" Pop asked, looking over to his wife who turned from the punch bowl she had just gotten a drink from. She was wearing a ghost bride costume.
"Of course, of course! I couldn't leave you all out of the celebration. Speaking of that, I know Drew and Charlotte couldn't be here but where's Stuart gone off to?" Lulu replied as she noticed that Stu wasn't with Didi at the moment
"Oh he's over by the stage, he did finally finish that Halloween animatronic and I think he wants to show it off." Didi answered, letting out a hesitant sigh in worry of her husband.
"Oh well that sounds wonderful!" Lulu assured with a smile
"You know I can't help but worry sometimes, especially since his inventions can go awry at times." Didi chuckled nervously
The sound of a mic's feedback interrupted the conversations amongst the groups of adults as everyone turned to spy Stu standing on the stage with a large tarp covering the supposed decoration.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, I, Stu Pickles, will now present to you the latest Halloween decoration of the year!" Stu announced into the microphone
Turning, Stu removed the tarp revealing a large Reptar standee covered in lights with a pumpkin in hand.
"Introducing, Halloween Reptar!" Stu exclaimed with the crowd taking immediate interest as they all turned to view the decoration. "He's a prototype but he moves like an animatronic as he jumps the candy into his mouth just as if he were real. Let's just get er plugged in and you all can see for yourself" Stu explained, moving over to the animatronic, as he grabbed the plug to plug it into the wall
Taking the plug over to the wall, Stu plugged it in, before making his way back to the decoration to flip on the switch that allowed power to run to it. However, upon flipping the switch, the animatronic lit up for a moment and began coming to life only for not only its lights to cut back out but the lights in the auditorium to cut out. Unknown to Stu however, the senior center wasn't the only place affected as the blackout of lights soon swept over the entire city of Yucaipa. It was a city-wide blackout!
"Oops..." Stu sheepishly chuckled
Back over at the McNulty's, Dil and Savannah had finally found the switch on the wall that turned on the lights. Dil, now on Savannah's shoulders, was trying to reach for the switch.
"I've almost..." Dil started reaching his arm out for the switch, "Gots it!" Dil cried out as he flipped the switch.
However, at the same time of him flipping the switch, the power had already gone out in the house. Dil frowned, seeing that the lights didn't come on as he flicked the switch between on and off a few times before getting down from Savannah's shoulders.
"I guess the haunty house is more haunted than we thoughts. The lights aren't coming on." Dil said
"But if the lights won't come on, how are we gonna gets out of here?" Savannah asked
"I don't knows...but as bob as my witless I'll gets us out of here and back with everyone else!" Dil exclaimed confidently, trying to put on a brave front for his best friend even though he was slightly afraid of what to do now that there was no real way to see.
"You knows, maybe there's a flashy light we could uses that!" Savannah suggested
"Great idea! Lets see if we can finds one." Dil nodded in agreement
The two toddlers then began their search amongst the various toys that were scattered across the floor in hopes they'd find a flashlight.
