Tommy Pickles: The Terrible Twos (Series; Pt 1)

What's Your Job? Pt 9

Another chapter for you all! Hope you enjoy! Thanks once again to Celrock for giving me some of the ideas that I used in this chapter.

Tommy stared at the T.V as he saw Reptar stomp across the screen. However, he was quickly confused when it panned out to show that the Reptar he saw was on a computer screen along with many people drawing or writing, with some walking around with papers in hand. Scrambling back up on the couch, Tommy was curious as to what the show that was on was doing with Reptar.

"Today, we'll be looking into the making of the Reptar V.S Armadillo Dave movie that came out mid last year!" The narrator of the program announced

Tommy watched as the camera panned the outside of the movie studio before the camera man followed the crew down a couple hallways to the writers room first. Tommy listened as the narrator explained the writer's job and what revisions are made to scripts among other things involved in making a film. Soon the documentary moved on to the artist department where they showed off many of the artists drawing various scenes for the Reptar film as many of the artists were interviewed as they continued to explain the process of their drawings involving the many backgrounds of the films that they used, and so on.

Soon it moved into the final part, which is what really took Tommy's interest, the directing portion of the film. Tommy watched as the film director talked with many of the cameramen before calling for action as they went through one of the movie scenes that involved the actors. Tommy immediately perked up as he stared in awe, he was starting to like the idea of being the one to be behind the camera calling the shots, filming, and making cool movies like the Reptar V.S. Armadillo Dave movie. From that moment on, as the documentary began wrapping up its final moments, Tommy made up his mind as to what he wanted as a job. He wanted to be a movie director! He wanted to make movies that everyone in the world would enjoy!

As the credits rolled across the screen, Tommy hopped down from the couch as he quickly ran over to tell Dil, Savannah, and Samayah the news.

"Guys, guys, I thinks I know what I wants to do for a job when I'm all growed up!" Tommy exclaimed

"That's great, Tommy!" Savannah congratulated the two year old

"Yeah! What is the job you wants to do?" Dil asked, curious as to what his brother had in mind

"I wants to be a movie deflector! They're the peoples that tell everyone else what to dos and then they films the movie with a clamcorder like daddy has!" Tommy answered with a big grin

"Wow, that sounds really neat." Dil spoke up again

"Uh huh! Which means I has to learns all I cans when I actually goes to preschool so they can teaches me how to makes movies and stuff." Tommy nodded, now having a new passion to go to preschool. He couldn't wait to tell the rest of his friends the next day.

Soon Savannah and Samayah went home for the evening as the Pickles' all had dinner before Didi got Tommy and Dil ready for bed. Now with his new found passion to learn how to make movies, Tommy was eager to go to bed so he could go back to the school and finish his evaluation. Even if he didn't know everything, he'd learn it if it meant he could make so many cool movies when he was all grown up!

Didi was relieved to see Tommy in a better mood the next morning and seemingly excited about going back to the school even after deeming it unfun yesterday afternoon. Maybe he was just cranky after being away from home and his brother all afternoon? Didi wouldn't ever know for sure. Soon it was time to go as Didi dropped Tommy off as she walked him to the same room as yesterday as Tommy ran to greet his friends.

"Hey guys!" Tommy greeted

"Tommy, you're here! I didn't thinks you come back after what you said yesterday." Chuckie replied, relieve to see his best friend indeed did show up

"Yup! I finally knows what I wants to be when I grows up and that means I will haves to learns all I can in preschool. I knows I don't knows as much as you and Kimi, Chuckie, but I will learns it anyway if it means I can bes a movie deflector." Tommy explained his reasoning

"What's a movie deflector?" Lil asked

"Oh I knows, they're the peoples that tells what everybody does and then has a clamcorder that you uses to makes the movies! We seended one when they tried to makes me a star that one times. Phil and Lil, you guys probably don't member acause you weren't theres that day." Kimi answered

"Ohhhh that makes sense." Phil said

"Uh huh, Kimi's right! And Dilly reminded me that even if we can't go on our own adventures no more soon, the teachers will takes us on feels trips to places like the zoo or the seeants mooseum and stuffs just like what Angelica, Susie, and Harold gots to do." Tommy said, further explaining his sudden decision change

"Well that's great! Even if Kimi's here I don't thinks I'd be able to survives preschool if you weren't heres." Chuckie said, placing his hand on Tommy's shoulder

"I'm glad to be heres too, Chuckeroo!" Tommy exclaimed

Soon all the kids had arrived for their second portion of their evaluation involving their motor skills. And of course, Tommy had his struggles but he also knew that he wasn't going to know or be able to do everything right away. Even then, Tommy knew he had plenty of time to learn everything he needed to know and he was willing to be patient if it meant that one day he would be the one to pick up and be behind the camera filming the next Reptar movie!
