Hello hello everyone! Apologies for the late upload. I didn't get to finish this chapter until this afternoon but it's here now and I hope you all enjoy!
Soon the next morning came and after having breakfast and getting dressed, Stu and Didi scooped up Tommy and Dil as Didi packed the stroller in the truck while Stu went ahead and buckled the kids into their carseats. Once the kids were buckled in, Stu went ahead and climbed into the driver's seat, putting on his seat belt as he adjusted the rearview mirror to clearly see the back of the car.
"Alright Dilster, are you ready to get your own bed?" Stu asked, looking at his boys through the rearview mirror
Dil could only squeal happily in delight, babbling to his dad to show just how excited he was.
"Are we ready?" Didi asked, slipping into the passenger seat and closing the door
"Yup, all set Deed." Stu answered with a grin as Didi clicked her seat belt into place.
With that the Pickles family left their home in the car as they began making their trip towards the freeway to head towards the bed and mattress store that Ebony had written down for them.
"Do you think the bed place has all kinds of beds?" Dil asked his brother, excitedly kicking his feet
"Oh yeah I bets it has a whole bunch of them for babies and biggerer kids and even mommies and daddies." Tommy answered with a nod
Of course he hadn't gotten to experience the trip to buy a bed as, much similar to what happened to Chuckie, he ended up just getting moved to a bed. Of course the difference was he at least was warned about this change and his crib technically stayed intact versus when Chuckie witnessed his dad, Tommy's mom and Phil and Lil's mom just carrying out his crib in multiple pieces.
After another few minutes of driving Stu pulled into the parking lot and after a quick trip around the lot found an empty parking space. Of course, Didi went ahead and got out to get the stroller set up for Dil to sit in. Meanwhile Stu went ahead and unbuckled Tommy to let him out of his own seat. Getting down from his carseat, Tommy hopped out of the car as he grabbed onto Stu's hand. After getting the stroller set up, Didi went ahead and went around the otherside of the car as she unbuckled Dil from his carseat and placed him in the stroller, strapping the belt to secure him there. Once they were ready, the family then made their way to the entrance of the building. Tommy and Dil just looked around in awe as they entered the building as, just like they imagined, the store was filled with various types of beds littered in displays around the store.
"Why hello, welcome, are you folks looking for something in particular that I can help you with?" One of the employees asked, greeting Stu and Didi
"Oh yes, can you perhaps direct us to the toddler beds? We're trying to transition our youngest son here from a crib to a bed." Didi asked, explaining their reason for the whole visit
"Of course! Right this way, we have quite the collection of toddler beds." The employee nodded, gesturing for Stu and Didi to follow
Making their way to the kid section of the bed selection, Tommy and Dil were quite amazed by the various amount of beds there were and their varying designs. Ranging from bunk beds, to space themed, car themed, even varying familiar tv show brands. There seemed like endless choices in their eyes!
"So was there any particular bed you were thinking of looking into for your son or would you like to show you the basics and work our way up from there?" The employee asked
"We can start with the basics, doesn't hurt to see all the options." Stu answered
"Of course, right this way." The employee nodded, leading Stu and Didi over to show off the basic toddler beds with guard rails and a mattress.
Of course, not really caring for the basic looking beds, Dil slipped out of his stroller seat as he toddled over to Tommy.
"Hey Tommy, lookit they haves a Reptar bed!" Dil exclaimed, tugging on Tommy's sleeve to point out the Reptar themed bed nearby
"Ooh, lets go sees." Tommy said, letting go of Stu's hand
Making their way over to the Reptar bed, Tommy and Dil began looking over the bed as they even climbed up onto the bed to see how the bed was.
"This bed is super comfy, plus you'd have Reptar protecting yous all night while you sleep." Dil giggled, rolling over onto his back and sprawling out on the bed
"Uh huh! I wish I hads this bed, but I likes my Dummi bear bed toos." Tommy commented, bouncing on the bed
Thinking for a moment, Dil then knew exactly what bed he wanted. Sitting up, Dil looked over at Tommy.
"Do you thinks they have a bed with Goober on it?" Dil asked
"Hmm I don't knows. We can looks! If they haves Reptar they have to have Goober toos. Let's go see if we can finds one." Tommy answered, hopping down off from the side of the bed
Following his brother, Dil got off the bed as they began their search for a Goober themed bed. Toddling past their parents, who were still looking over the basic toddler bed models with the employee, Tommy and Dil made their way through the larger section of basic toddler beds in hopes to spot the bed Dil wished to have.
"Oooh there's a robosnail one!" Dil pointed out
"Oh yeah, and lookit there's one that looks like a race car." Tommy also pointed out
Continuing their search, the two brothers continued to point out the various themed toddler beds along with many beds that had themed bed sets such as Dora, Space Trek Babies, Adventure Squad and so on. In that next instance of passing a crowd, the two toddlers found what they were looking for; a Goober themed toddler bed. Lighting up in excitement Tommy and Dil both happily ran over to the bed giggling. At the same time, over with Stu and Didi were about to move on with the employee, Stu noticed that Tommy was no longer next to him.
"Hey where's Tommy?" Stu questioned looking around frantically for his oldest son
"And Dil! Oh no..." Didi panicked as the two parents began looking for their two sons
That's when Stu and Didi heard the familiar giggles of their two sons from a distance and quickly spotted them bouncing and rolling on the Goober bed nearby. Breathing a sigh of relief, Stu and Didi both went over to scoop up their children.
"Dil bed!" Tommy exclaimed, pointing to the Goober bed
Looking at each other, Didi and Stu knew exactly what to do next.
"We'll take this one." Both parents uttered in unison
