Heyo everyone! Apologies for getting this chapter out so late into the weekend. Time definetly got away from me before I could finish this chapter up! I also had taken the time to put this story and all the stories related to Terrible Twos up on Archive of Our Own (AO3), something I've wanted to do for a while. It is now available there to read as well! Anyway hope you all enjoy!

With nothing to worry about, Dil made his way back downstairs to watch the rest of the show with Tommy. It wasn't long before Didi had finished cleaning all the dishes leftover from dinner just as the Reptar show was coming to its end.

"Alright you two, time for your bath." Didi said, walking over to the couch, as she located the tv remote and switched off the tv.

Picking up Dil, Didi began walking towards the stairs as Tommy followed close behind after climbing down from the couch. Making their way upstairs Tommy ran ahead into his and Dil's room to prepare for their usual bath time routine. Getting them settled, Didi then went ahead to the bathroom as she ran the bath water. However, Didi quickly noticed that the bath toys were no longer in their usual place in the bin next to the bathtub.

"Oh..Huh?" Didi mumbled confusingly

Taking a quick glance around the bathroom, Didi then peeked out in the hallway to call out to Stu.

"Stu honey, did you move the kids' bath toys? They're not in the storage tub!" Didi asked her husband

Stu, who was currently walking up the stairs to go ahead and wind down for the evening, looked over at Didi as soon as he reached the top of the stairs.

"Nope, I haven't seen them. I've been in the workshop all day, remember?" Stu reminded Didi

"Hmm, well they have to be here somewhere. They can't just get up and walk away." Didi replied

Overhearing their parents talking out in the hallway, Tommy went to listen to what they were talking about. Realizing it was about their bath toys, Tommy looked back at Dil who was happily playing with his Goober plushie at the moment. It was all kind of convenient that the toys went missing right before bath time right after Tommy tried to prove the toys weren't alive after his brother thought so. Stepping back from the doorway, Tommy then turned his attention to Dil as he made his way over to his brother.

"Dil, do you knows what happened to the bathy toys?" Tommy asked, giving him a half accusing glare

"Um...no?" Dil answered, not looking Tommy in the eyes as he kept playing with Goober

"Dil...you're the only one who could have takeded them." Tommy said, crossing his arms

Dil could only sigh in defeat, he couldn't hide the fact that he hid the toys at this rate. After all, Tommy was right, he was the only one that could have done something with the toys.

"I hided them acause I didn't want them to hurts us in the bathy no mores." Dil finally answered

"Dilly I already tolds ya, they're not going to hurts us acause they're not alive." Tommy huffed

"But how do you knows for sure?" Dil asked

"I can shows you when we takes our bathy, you just gots to tell me where the toys are so mommy can puts them in the bath with us." Tommy answered

Hesitating for a moment, Dil let out an uneasy sigh. Even he had to admit, he kind of wanted to be able to enjoy bath time like his brother.

"Okay okay...I hided them in that closet under the sink in the bathroom." Dil replied

Now having the answer to the mystery, Tommy took no time to turn and head out of the bedroom and into the bathroom with Didi, who had given up on trying to find the toys and was returning to the task of preparing the bath for the boys. As she checked the temperature of the water, Didi then moved away from the tub side to grab towels for them. At the same time, Tommy had wandered into the bathroom as he made his way directly over to the sink.

"Oh no no sweetie you can't play under there." Didi quickly responded as Tommy opened the door to the cabinet, picking him up in her arms, only to see the toys tumble out onto the floor. "Oh my, now how did those get there." Didi said, placing Tommy down away from the sink as she collected the toys. "Well at least you two can have them for your bath now."

Didi collected the group of toys as she placed them in the bathtub before finally getting both Tommy and Dil into the bathtub. Dil, as usual, squirmed and splashed the water trying to keep the toys away from him. Tommy, however, was ready to finally end his brothers fears once and for all.

"Dil, lookit, they're not alive, see. They just look that way acause the water makes them move." Tommy said, picking up the rubber duck toy as he squeezed it causing it to squeak

"Maybe that's what they want you to think..." Dil muttered

Tommy sighed in frustration, there had to be a way to get Dil to believe him. That's when Tommy noticed one of the bath sponges was resting on the bath wall shelf nearby as an idea came to him. When Didi had turned her attention away to wipe away the excess water Dil had splashed on her, Tommy took the opportunity to grab the sponge from the shelf.

"What are you doing, Tommy?" Dil asked, wondering what his brother was planning to do

"Well this bathy sponge isn't alive and it's not going to come alive eithers if I puts it in the water just like our toys." Tommy said, plopping back down into the water as he dropped the sponge in the water as well. "See, it just floats theres and gets moved by the water, just like our toys. They're not alive and they're not going to hurts us."

Dil watched as the sponge did indeed just float across the surface of the tub, bobbing slightly from the movement of the water. Picking it up along with the rubber ducky, Dil looked at both items as he slowly placed them back in the water, observing the two objects closely. This time however, nothing happened. They rubber duck hadn't turned into a giant whale, he wasn't on a boat, and there was no shark trying to eat Tommy. Realizing now that it really was all in his imagination, Dil grinned.

"Hey you're right Tommy! They're not alive at all, I guess it was just my magination that made me thinks they were." Dil said, giggling happily

"See, I told you Dilly! Now you can like bathys too." Tommy giggled happily, splashing some water his brother's way

Dil giggled as well, splashing some water back at Tommy as the two played with the toys. Didi at the same time returned to the tub side as she watched in pure surprise to see Dil actually playing in the water rather than screaming and crying to get out like he usually did. Maybe, finally bath time would no longer be stressful for her or Dil.

"I don't know what happened but mommy's glad to see you having fun sweetie." Didi chuckled, kneeling back down so she could finish getting them both cleaned up.

Dil could only babble happily as he pushed the toy boat around in the water in front of him. For once, DIl was finally enjoying bath time!
