Heyo all! Back again already, I've had a small surge of writing motivation so I've decided to write out what I can. Hope you all enjoy!
A couple days following Halloween, Tommy and Dil were found playing outside in the backyard. Tommy had come up with a game named, Racing Reptar, as they both ran back and forth across the yard. Meanwhile inside, Stu was focused on a toy infomercial that was currently playing when Didi interrupted him.
"Stu honey, don't forget to clean up the backyard. After that heavy wind storm we had the other night there's twigs and branches everywhere and I don't want the boys hurting themselves." Didi explained
"Right Deed, I'm on it!" Stu said, getting up from the couch
"Good, I'll be in the kitchen making the boys their lunch." Didi hummed, making her way into the kitchen
Stu then made his way into the kitchen and out to the garage to grab the rake. After finding the rake and grabbing a couple trash bags to place the twigs and branches in, he then moved back inside as he made his way over to the back patio door. However, he was stopped by the sound of another infomercial playing as he took a glance from around the corner of the kitchen and living room.
"Aww no I had that same idea, so much for that toy putting Pickles' toys on the map." Stu sighed to himself in frustration, going over to watch the tv infomercials
Of course, Stu got engrossed into the tv once again leaving him to set the rake aside. The twigs and branches could wait a bit longer. Back outside, Dil was chasing down Tommy trying to catch up to him in their race.
"I'm gonna passes you Tommy!" Dil exclaimed, giggling, as he began to catch up with his older sibling
"Nuh uh Dilly, i'm the fastest Reptar in the whole wide world!" Tommy yelled back, also giggling
Unbeknownst to the both of them however, there was a slightly large branch in front of them that they both hadn't noticed yet due to their friendly sibling banter. That was the case, until Dil ended up toppling over the branch and falling with a thud.
"Ow!" Dil cried out, in which of course alerted Tommy to screech to a stop and return to his brother
"Uh oh, Dilly are yous okay?" Tommy asked, a look of concern crossing his face
Lifting himself up into a sitting position, Dil let out a slight nod. However, that's when he noticed a stinging pain on his left foot. Of course, Dil immediately decided to investigate the stinging sensation as he examined his foot. Right away, Dil noticed a decently sized cut on his foot as blood began to dribble from the wound causing an audible gasp to escape his mouth. Next followed a loud wail coming from Dil as he began bawling loudly.
"Dil!" Both Stu and Didi's cries could be heard as they each rushed out into the backyard.
"What happened?" Stu questioned, rushing out with the rake and trashbags in hand
"He got a cut on one of the branches, Stu. This is why I wanted you to pick them up." Didi scolded, scooping up the crying infant
"Sorry Deed, I'll get on that now." Stu stammered, as he began to rake and pick up the twigs and branches that littered the yard.
"It's okay Dilly, Mommy will make it all better." Didi cooed, carrying Dil inside
As Didi took Dil inside to take care of his wound, Tommy stood somewhat frozen from what he just had witnessed. Dil had gotten hurt, he wasn't protecting him like a big brother should have. Now his only brother had gotten a cut and blood was coming out. That's when Tommy decided he was going to have to make sure Dil stayed safe. No matter what it took!
Inside, Didi grabbed her first aid kit from the downstairs closet as she took Dil with her over to the couch. Sitting down, Didi set the first aid kit next to her as she popped the lid open. Dil had stopped crying by this point, however he was still whimpering and sniffling.
"It'll be alright snookums, it was only a matter of time before this day would come for you too." Didi said, taking out the antibacterial spray, some cotton balls, and one of the boxes of bandages that happened to be Goober themed.
Didi picked up one of the cotton balls as she began cleaning some of the blood away from the wound on Dil's foot. Once she felt it was clean enough, she picked up the spray bottle as she slightly hesitated while positioning the bottle near the wound.
"Okay sweetie, this will sting a little but it'll make your boo boo all better." Didi assured the one year old.
Didi then sprayed Dil's wound, causing him to let out a yelp of pain as he gripped onto her dress with one hand. Didi then set the bottle back inside the kit as she then took a Goober themed bandaid out of the box as she placed it on Dil's cut.
"There we go, that spray will keep your cut nice and clean and this will protect it until it's all better. You're such a brave boy just like your brother." Didi said, kissing Dil's forehead to try and sooth him a bit before she placed him on the couch.
Didi then began cleaning up the small mess from treating Dil's wound as she moved to return the kit to the closet along with throwing away the cotton balls that she had used. Dil, however, could only stare at his wound in a sort of aftershock. Sure he had many boo boos before, but none of them ever had something come out, He had to ask Tommy about that. Getting down from the couch, Dil wanted to find Tommy and ask about his injury. At the same time, wanting to check up on his brother, Tommy had made his way inside the house. Spying Dil climbing down from the couch he quickly called out for him.
"Dilly wait! Stop!" Tommy cried out, running over to his brother
"Wha? What's the matter, Tommy? I'm fine, mommy putted this stingy stuffs and a Goober sticky on my boo boo." Dil questioned, wondering why his brother was so frantic all of a sudden
"Yeah that's great, but that means you gots to crawl. You don't want that sticky to come off or all the blood is gonna come out." Tommy said, explaining his sudden franticness
"Blood? What's that?" Dil asked, could it have been that red stuff he saw before?
"It's that red stuffs, it's apposed to stay in your body or else you get an inflection and tangerine." Tommy explained to his brother, "That's why you gots to make sure you don't knock your sticky off. I don't want you to get an inflection."
"Ooohhh...okay Tommy I'll be careful." Dil said with a nod, as he got down on his knees to crawl. He didn't mind too much after all, his foot did kind of still hurt even after all the treatment.
Dil continued to mostly crawl around the house for the rest of the day as they both had their lunch and nap before playing a little in the evening before bed. Growing bored of not being able to walk around however, Dil decided that he wanted to play with the blocks.
"Hey Tommy, wanna play blocks with me?" Dil asked, crawling over to pick up one of the blocks
"No! I mean...if you make a tower it might fall and give you a second boo boo. Here you can play with the teddy bear and even my lion, Henry!" Tommy said, snatching the block from his brothers hand to replace them with the two plush toys
"Uh...okay then.." Dil said, slightly annoyed that his brother wouldn't let him play with blocks
Unfortunately for Dil, Tommy's sudden obsession with protecting him was only going to get worse. He soon found this out the next day when Didi brought them over to the park playground to play.
How over protective will Tommy get? Find out next time!
