Cedric tried to comprehend what he was seeing as Harry straightened his headband. He was wearing a ladybug costume but it had little hearts all over it. His headband had two antennas attached to it and hearts dangled at the end. "Harry, what are you doing?" It was finally Valentine's Day weekend and Harry Potter had folded under the pressure.
"I'm a love bug and I'm going to bite Draco." Cedric stared at him as Harry stared back. Tonks was gasping for breath as she continued laughing.
"That's nice." Cedric finally said.
"Nice? That's bloody brilliant Harry! Draco is going to love it." Harry beamed at her as he fixed his headband again.
"Thank you Tonks! I'm glad someone supports me." Cedric rolled his eyes and put a sticking charm on Harry's antennas.
"I support you Harry. I just think your costume is interesting."
"Professor Lupin helped me make it! It took him a few tries but I think he did well." Harry gave a twirl showing off the whole ensemble.
"Well I suppose we should go to breakfast!" Tonks said and grabbed Harry's hand. Cedric grabbed the other and they marched to the Great Hall. As soon as they stepped through the doors, flowers were raining down from the ceiling. It was dead silent as Draco stood on a bench and announced "Harry my love, the light of my life, my reason for breathing, Happy Valentine's Day!" He finally caught a glimpse of Harry's outfit and Cedric saw his mouth drop open. His face then got bright pink as his nose started to bleed.
"If this is how I die, I have lived a full life", Draco opened his arms to the sky and continued "take me now, Death!" Cedric rubbed his temple, trying to stave off a headache as Harry ran over to hand Draco a handkerchief for his bloody nose. Tonks dragged him to the 'Puff table and handed him some coffee. He knew this was going to be a long day.~~~~~~
As soon as Draco saw Harry's outfit, he knew he was blessed. What else could it be? His beloved had dressed up as a love bug! His heart was going to explode with how cute he looked. He had a bleeding headband on, for Merlin's sake! Draco pinched his nose as it began to bleed again.
"Are you sure you're okay Draco?" Harry asked worriedly.
"I have never been better, my love." He replied as he stared at Harry dreamily. The sound of the morning mail broke his staring as Achillies dropped off two packages. Harry gave a grin as he opened his to reveal chocolates from his parents. Draco was thankful that his parents loved Harry as much as he did. Of course he did not appreciate his Father building Harry a snake enclosure. He should've been the one to do it! He grinned triumphantly knowing how upset his Father would be that he missed Harry's bug costume.
"Harry, nice costume." Marcus said as he sat down next to him.
"Thank you Marcus! Happy Valentine's Day!" He said as he grabbed Draco's hand. Ignoring Marcus, he turned to Harry and said "I hope you're ready for a Valentine's Day Surprise!" The Great Hall doors flew open as Lord Black strolled in.
"Hello Sirius!" Harry cried out, a giant grin on his face. As soon as Lord Black saw Harry, he clutched his heart and fell against the Gryffindor table.
"My sweet godson has turned into a cutie bug! Merlin, what shall I do? My poor heart!" He said dramatically. The Weasley twins gave a grin and said "You missed Draco's speech." Lord Black gave a sniff and said "it was probably puke inducing."
"It was lovely!" His Vice President said, while dabbing her eyes.
"Thank you Herm! I'm sure Lord Black is just green with envy." He replied snidely.
"Oi! Aren't I helping you with your little date? Check yourself kid!"
"I was under the impression I was chaperoning this love fest." His godfather said with distaste.
"I must have asked both of you. My mistake. You might as well both come." He watched Lord Black and his godfather have a stare down. "Good job, Draco! Double date." Harry whispered and leaned over to give Professor Lupin a thumbs up, which he returned. It seemed Professor Lupin thought they would make a wonderful couple as well.
"I suppose it can't be helped." His uncle finally said.
"Alright Harry! You have to put on this blindfold and we'll be on our way!"~~~~~~
Harry couldn't see a thing but Draco was leading him so he wasn't worried. Draco wouldn't let anything hurt him.
"Alright Harry, are you ready?"
"Yes!" He was so excited.
"Okay! You can remove your blindfold." He took it off and looked around. They seemed to be at some sort of reserve.
"Hello Professor Snape! You're right on time." A red haired young man called out as he stepped forward. He looked familiar.
"You must be Draco and Harry! Ronnie's told me all about you. I'm Charlie, Ronnie's older brother." Charlie? Charlie who worked with- "dragons? We're here to see the dragons?" Harry could stop himself from yelling. No way!
"Happy Valentine's Day, my darling." Draco kissed his hand.
"Wow. The twins were right! You two are just too cute." Charlie was saying. Sirius was glaring at Draco and Mr. Severus looked like he wanted to obliviate himself. Harry grabbed Draco's hand and pulled him forward.
"Alright kids! The first dragon we're going to see is an older Antipodean Opaleye! Make sure to keep your distance and be respectful!" A stunning dragon was laying on the grass. Her scales reflected the sun and made the area around her shine like a rainbow.
"Wow! How pretty!" Harry gasped. Draco looked just as awed as he did. Harry learned forward and started hissing, to the shock of Charlie.
"Hello Elder. You are very pretty!" The dragon looked at him and brought her head closer.
"You have an odd accent, little chick." She hissed, her voice rumbling the ground.
"What's your name?" He asked. She gave a laugh and said "I am called she-who-crushes-skulls."
"My name is Harry and this is Draco! We're going to mate when we become adults!" Harry hissed proudly. She gave a snort causing his bug wings to flutter behind his back.
"How wonderful, chick! I wish you and your mate many happy moons." She said, "Here is a gift for your mating." She nudged forward a scale. It was the size of his head and shined brilliantly.
"Thank you Elder!" He said and waved as she wandered off.
"Merlin's saggy left tit, Harry! I thought she was going to eat you!" Charlie wheezed as he put a hand to his chest.
"Don't be ridiculous, Charlie. Skullcrusher was very nice!"
"Skullcrusher?" He repeated faintly. Harry picked up the scale and gave it to Draco.
"Something to match your beauty." He said shyly and watched Draco blush.
"Thank you darling. I will treasure it forever! I will pass it down to our descendants!" Draco held the scale tightly.
"Do you think I could get the next dragon to maul me?" Sirius mused out loud.
"Only if I go first." Mr. Severus replied. How wonderful! They were getting along!~~~~~~
Sirius wasn't surprised his godson had charmed all of the dragons on the reserve. His antennas bounced with every step and the wind kept catching his little wings giving the impression he was floating when he walked. It was the cutest thing he had ever seen! Remus had fire called him the other night after Harry's visit. He had been raving about Harry trying to set him up just like James. He said he wouldn't survive a second time. Sirius gave a snort remembering Remus walking around covered in spots from an irate Ravenclaw their third year. He knew the Malfoy brat had planned this all out. He felt his cheeks flush as he thought of Snape. He couldn't believe the man hadn't noticed the children trying to set them up! He noticed everything. It was annoying.
"Sirius! Look!" The male Ukrainian Ironbelly had picked his pup up and was letting him crawl between his eyes. Sirius let out a choked scream and unconsciously grabbed Snape's arm.
"Be careful, be careful, be careful." He chanted softly as he watched Draco join his godson.
"Merlin! Old Rufus is a grouch. I can't believe he's letting them touch him, let alone crawl on him." Charlie Weasley said, causing Sirius to hold Snape tighter. His hair was going to turn gray, he lamented. The boys were laughing as they slid down the Dragon's back like a slide, Harry's antennas moving wildly. No wonder his Mother hadn't bothered to form attachments to him or Reg. This was terrifying. Sirius wouldn't be surprised if he died from a heart attack before Harry even graduated from Hogwarts. The boys got off the Ukrainian Ironbelly and he watched Harry give his head a hug before they came back.
"Mr. Skyfang said we can come back anytime!" Harry hadn't stopped smiling since they came so Sirius supposed the debilitating fear he suffered was worth it. He sighed and felt someone's eyes on him. Looking over he saw Snape staring him down, looking at him curiously. Sirius realized that he had been gripping Snapes arm this whole time and flushed. Merlin! What was he thinking? He hastily let go and ignored the boys giggling in the background.~~~~~~
Narcissa watched her husband pace Severus's office. They had come to surprise the boys and were waiting for them to return from Draco's surprise Valentine's Day adventure. He had refused to tell them where he was taking Harry. She knew it would be extravagant though. He had inherited her flare for showing off. Lucius was still wearing the gift she had gotten him this morning. She had braided different color jewels into his flowing locks. They ranged from rubies to garnets. He looked lovely, sparkling like the precious gem he was. He had gifted her new battle robes in a lovely burgundy color. She couldn't wait to wear them. It was a shame most of her dueling competitions were held underground. It was fortunate that the Ministry looked the other way when she went out.
"Where could they be? My poor boys should be with their Father! Not some hooligans." Lucius cried out. The sound of the door opening interrupted his tirade.
"Did you just call us hooligans, Lucius ?" Sirius asked, sticking his head in. "I suppose I should just send the boys back to their dorms. It's a shame, Harry's wearing wings." Before her idiot cousin could get hexed by her idiot husband, Severus shoved the door open and stepped around Sirius. She watched Sirius blush before looking away. Interesting. Perhaps the boys had been on to something. Draco led Harry into the room and she couldn't help her squeal. He was a love bug! She wrapped them both into a hug and said "Happy Valentine's Day, my loves. What did you do today?" Harry told her all about the dragons while Draco proudly showed off his scale. She couldn't help her joy at their excitement. Lucius was discreetly snapping pictures of everyone. He had recently got into scrapbooking and she knew it was full of pictures of the boys. It was so sweet. She watched Harry walk over and start whispering to her husband and saw Sirius give them both the stink eye. Lucius's face lit up and he said "how interesting, Harry! I think Severus and Sirius should chaperone more often." As she watched Sirius launch himself across the room and Draco re-enact sliding down the face of a dragon named Skyfang, she decided that today had been a wonderful day.
