Remus Lupin stared around his flat. The corner of the ceiling leaked and there was a constant banging from upstairs. There was no tenant, it was the angry ghost of an old man. He had died in his chair and somehow brought his cane into the afterlife with him. But it was cheap and that's what he needed. He had just gotten a letter from the Headmaster. He would not be returning as the Defense teacher. Apparently some parents had found out about his condition and didn't want a werewolf teaching their children. He tried to be positive about it but he couldn't help being depressed. He had loved teaching and the students had made him feel less of a monster. The sound of someone knocking on his door broke his maudlin thoughts. He went to answer it but it opened before he could get there.
"Hello Professor!" His cub stood in the doorway, the Malfoy boy behind him.
"Harry! What are you boys doing here?" He had exchanged a few letters with Sirius but they both had been pretty busy lately.
"Sirius said you got fired so we came to pick you up!" Harry replied, looking curiously around his place. Remus blinked before looking at Malfoy jr for clarification.
"We've come to kidnap you. You can live at Grimmauld Place with us." He explained, opening his drawers and shoving his things in a bag.
"Excuse me?" Remus was confused. Why would they kidnap him?
"You're excused! We're going to France next month so make sure you bring light clothes." Harry called out from his bathroom.
"Does Sirius know you're inviting people to live at his house?" Sirius wouldn't agree to this surely!
"Yep! He said Mr. Severus will just move into his room so you can pick any room you want." Remus felt his jaw fall open. Draco rolled his eyes and whispered "they just want to shag. Don't tell Harry though. He thinks Uncle is afraid to sleep alone." Remus couldn't help his snort. His cub was too cute.
"Boys, I'm happy you like me this much but I will not be moving in with you." He told them sternly. They exchanged a look before a voice yelled from the doorway. "Oi! Are you guys here?" Ron Weasley poked his head through the doorway. Hermione Granger, Neville Longbottom, the Weasley twins, Tonks and Cedric Diggory followed behind him.
"What are you all doing here? Do you parents know you're running about?" He asked, shocked at their sudden arrival.
"We told them we were going to Herm's and she told her parents she was going to Tonks!" Neville announced, closing the door behind him.
"And we've come to help you pack up your things!" Tonks continued, digging around his fridge.
"Children like I told the boys, I am not moving." He repeated. He would not be anyone's charity case!

~~~~~~
Tonks stared at Cedric. He had been avoiding her for a week! She knew she could be dense but she definitely noticed him giving her the cold shoulder. Even now, he was purposely avoiding her gaze. Fine! Two could play that game. She continued to root around Professor Lupin's fridge. She found a jar of pickles and was relieved to notice they weren't expired. The man needed to go grocery shopping.
"Sir! I still can't believe you got fired! You were the best Defense teacher we've had in like fifty years." She told him, crunching on her pickle chips.
"Tonks, you can't just steal Professor Lupin's food." Cedric hissed at her, his hands reaching for her jar. She hid behind Neville, giving Cedric a nasty look. He couldn't just decide to be nice to her whenever he wanted to!
"I'm not stealing them, I'm helping him finish them off." She said snidely.
"It's to be expected." Professor Lupin replied, his back stiff. She cocked her head to the side.
"What do you mean?" Sure his class had been a little boring sometimes but that shouldn't have gotten him fired. Professor Lupin looked uncomfortable as he shifted his weight from foot to foot. She looked at Draco and he shrugged his shoulders, still shoving clothes in his bag.
"Because I'm a werewolf." He finally said, his hands clasped behind his back. She looked at everyone and they all looked as confused as she was.
"Er sir, all of Hogwarts knew you were a werewolf. We didn't say anything because you seemed uneasy talking about it." Ron said awkwardly.
"Yes! I think it's odd how prejudiced the Wizarding World is against werewolves. I mean any girl over the age of fifteen turns cranky once a month too. They don't make us register with the Ministry" Herm declared. Tonks couldn't help but laugh at her comparison. The other girl was right though.
"What do you mean everyone already knew I was a werewolf?"
~~~~~~

Hermione felt bad for Professor Lupin. Every time
he said the word werewolf, he hesitated. Like he was afraid of their reaction.
"I figured it out the first week of class." She admitted. She didn't reveal that the only reason she thought about it was because she loved reading werewolf romance novels. It was her guilty pleasure and she would take that secret to her grave.
"I figured it out after the first month and told Draco!" Harry came out of Professor Lupin's room, dragging a bag behind him. The twins took it from him and dropped it by the front door.
"And I told the HFC." Draco admitted as he took Harry's hand.
"I just guessed!" Tonks remarked, still eating pickles. Cedric looked guilty as he said "I overheard you and Professor Snape talking about it." She watched Professor Lupin sit down heavily on the only chair in the room.
"I see." He said finally.
"I'm surprised it took the parents this long to complain." He continued dryly. Hermione felt her eyebrows furrow in confusion.
"Sir, everyone wrote home about it ages ago. We figured if our parents already knew, some jerk wouldn't be able to out you." Cedric said slowly.
"Professor, what was the reason the Headmaster gave you for firing you?" She said, already reaching for a pencil.
"He said the parents didn't appreciate a werewolf teaching their children and he had to do something about it or they would go to the school board." He recited. Hermione felt her agitation grow. That foul loathsome old man!
"I'm going to poison his candy dish. I'll only poison one so they won't be able to trace it back to me. He won't know what hit him." She started mumbling to herself. She saw Neville take a step away from her, closer to Professor Lupin.
"If everyone knew I was a werewolf, why weren't any of the students afraid of me?" The Professor suddenly asked.
"No offense sir but I'm more afraid of Herm than you. You look like a stiff wind would knock you down." Neville told him.
"Yes Professor, I'm confident in my ability to take you down but my Vice President? Absolutely not." Draco agreed with him. She couldn't help smiling at them. They believed in her!
"So the Headmaster fired Professor Lupin just because?" Ron asked everyone. "But why would he do that? Especially with the school board breathing down his neck?"

~~~~~~
Harry was happy Professor Lupin was moving in with them. The man's flat reminded him of his cupboard. Lonely. He didn't have any pictures on the walls and it was rather bare. When he moved in, he would have Mr. Malfoy take pictures of them so Professor Lupin could decorate his room. As they discreetly piled all of his things by the door, he snuck out the door.
"Kreacher!" The old elf appeared in an instant.
"Precious little master be calling Kreacher?" He wheezed quietly.
"Hi Kreacher! Would you mind taking this stuff back home? Professor Lupin is moving in with us so be nice to him, okay?" Kreacher's ears flapped as he said "Kreacher will be nice to the werewolf!" He shrunk all of the man's things and left. Harry went back into the mostly empty flat and found Hermione furiously writing, a piece of parchment laid across Fred's back.
"He's a crazy old man who thinks his word is law! Anyone who disagrees with him is labeled an evil dark wizard. I bet he fired Professor Lupin because he sided with us at the school board meeting!" Draco was ranting, his pretty eyes shining with anger. He was so lovely, Harry thought. He still wasn't sure who to set Professor Lupin up with but he had a list of potential candidates. He would get more of the man's dislike and likes before making a move.
"Alright! We can talk more at home. Is everyone ready to go?" He asked, looking around to make sure they got everything.
"Cub, I told you-" Harry cut him off.
"Don't you want to live with us, Professor?" The older man's eyes widened and he was quick to reassure him that "of course I would love to live with everyone but-" Draco intervened "you're worried about being a third wheel? Don't worry, I'll have a talk with Lord Black and Uncle about appropriate behavior. Again." He sighed. Professor Lupin opened and closed his mouth before straightening his shoulders.
"Alright children, lead the way."
