I walked out of the pet shop. With a little yorkie on a leash by my side. Brendon would kill me if he knew I got a dog. I took a deep breath as I picked the dog up and put it in the passenger sit, "sit down, Archie."

I glanced at Archie and took a deep breath. I pulled out of the parking spot and driving down the road to the stop sign. I turned the radio on and turned it down low. My phone buzzed on my lap and I quickly picked it up, "Hi, Darling."

"Hi," I began and looked at Archie, "are you home?"

"No," he began and cleared his throat, "went to the post office."

"Oh. When will you be home?"

"Uh," he began and it was silent for a few seconds, "not for another hour."

I felt relieved and fell into the seat as I turned into my neighborhood, "okay, i'll see you when you get home."

"I love you, darling."

"I love you."

I ended the call and set my phone back down. Hoping and praying that he wouldn't get mad at me.

I pulled into the driveway, grabbing Archie as I walked him inside the house. When I shut the door behind me, I kneeled down and let him off of his leash and he ran around the house. I bit my nails anxiously as I walked into the kitchen, grabbing a bottle of water.

I sat down on the couch, turning the t.v. on and relaxing as the morning sickness made me feel nauseous. I didn't want to throw up, so I inhaled and exhaled in a pattern to relieve me. Archie jumped up on the couch and curled himself into a ball on my lap.

I woke up to the front door opening and I glared at Archie, praying that he didn't bark, "babe? Are you home?!"

I panicked for a moment, picking Archie up and setting him on the couch, "Yeah!" I yelled back and got up quickly, speed walking over to him, embracing him into a hug.

He hesitantly hugged me and I could tell he was observing, "you smell like a dog."

I chuckled nervously and I pulled away from him, "a dog? That's funny..."

Brendon furrowed his eyebrows as he walked over to the kitchen table and set his bags down. I waited anxiously for his reaction to Archie who was still sitting in the same spot. Brendon turned around a few times until he faced the couch. His eyes widened and he put his hands over his face, "Jj..."

"Before you get mad," I began and walked over to the couch, "I couldn't help myself. Look at him."

Brendon sighed and he gritted his teeth, "you can't make these purchases without talking to me about it."

"Yeah..." I began and got up, "but a dog is good, right? You like dogs."

He ran his fingers through his hair, "yeah, not yorkies."

I sighed and Archie jumped off of the couch and began trotting around. Brendon's head followed Archie as he walked upstairs. He turned his head back at me, his mouth hung open and his hand on his hip, "Joanne."

I widened my eyes and bit the inside of my cheek. Waiting for him to say something else.

But he didn't.

He grabbed his keys from the table and I followed him as he walked toward the front door. He shut the door behind him and I didn't bother following him outside. I didn't understand the whole issue. Why was he so mad at me?
