I pressed my hand against my forehead, rubbing it. Today was the gender reveal party and I was stuck. I needed to tell Brendon that I already know. It was eating me away. I moved my hand away from my head, leaning back in the kitchen chair as I tried to look for Brendon--who was setting up outside. I sighed. Anxiety rushing over me. How was I supposed to tell him? It would break his heart knowing that I knew this whole time. The front door opened and I got up, pushing the chair in and brushing my dress down. I pulled hair behind my head and set my hand on the small bump. I glanced over at the door. My mom and Alexandra walked in with cupcakes and my mom's famous Italian food. I opened the fridge, pulling out the cold waters and setting them up along the kitchen counter, "Ciao Mia Bella!"
"Hi mom."
I grabbed the trays of food from her hand and set them down on the counter on top of paper towels. Alex walked by me, "still not talking to me."
I fixed the trays of food, ignoring her, "perché non parli con lei, Joanne?"
Alex slammed her hand on the counter, "Mom! Can you stop speaking Italian for one fucking minute!"
"She gave away the gender to me, mom."
"Oh yeah. Way to rat me out, Jojo."
I scoffed. I watched as my mom walked over to Alexandra, pulling at her ear and dragging her around the house, "Ow! Ow! Fuck mom! Cazzo mama! Fermare!"
I quickly hurried over to them, trying to pry my mom's hand away from Alex's ear, "Mamma, lascia andare..." I began, still trying to pry her hand away, "...lascia andare, Mamma! Mamma! Smettila!"
My mom let go of Alex's ear. I stood in between them and looked back and forth at them, "knock it off you two," I began and pointed my finger at them, "fix your fucking issues."
Alex and my mom looked at me, walking away. I sighed in annoyance and walked outside. Brendon set up the last of the chair and stretched afterward. He wore a black long-sleeve and light-washed black skinny jeans that were ripped at the knees. I walked over to him, looking around at the set-up, "it looks good, hon."
"I tried," he began and planted a kiss on my cheek, "it's gotta be memorable."
I nodded my head and he motioned that we sit down. I leaned back in my chair, placing my hand on my stomach and Brendon faced toward me, "what do you think the gender is, Jj?"
"Uhm..I...I don't know."
My heart began racing and I started to sweat. I needed to tell him before everyone else begins to arrive, "actually...I have to tell you something."
"Okay."
"You know when Alex and I were fighting the other day?"
Brendon nodded his head and leaned back in his chair, expecting the worst to fall off of my tongue, "yeah."
"Well..." I trailed off and took a deep breath, "well...we were fighting because..."
"Spit it out, Joanne. I won't be mad."
He better be right, "we were fighting because she revealed the gender to me."
Brendon's eyebrows furrowed and chuckled, "good one, Jj. Q-tips an idiot, but she's not brain dead."
I raised an eyebrow at him and tilted my head, "that's my sister you're talking about," I began, "but she really did reveal it to me."
Brendon set his beer down in the cup holder and sucked his teeth. He got up and I quickly followed his lead. He set his hands on his hips, "this fight wasn't the other day. It was last week...you kept it from me for a week?!" His voice raising.
I cleared my throat and crossed my arms, "you think I wanted to know? I didn't tell you because it would break your heart!"
Brendon turned around, beginning to walk inside. I followed him and we walked in together. My mom must've known he had entered the house because she ran over to him and hugged him. He leaned down, hugging her and she kissed both sides of his cheeks, "ah, mio bel genero."
Brendon smiled, waiting for my mom to walk away and when she did, all hell broke loose. His eyes glued onto Alex and I could feel the tension. Alex turned around, a half eaten Canoli sat in her hand, the other half sat in her mouth, "uh...can I help you, forehead?
"I think that you are the most idiotic person to ever walk-"
I quickly covered Brendon's mouth and he jerked his head back and I pulled my hand away. Alex set her Canoli down and crossed her arms, "listen mega cunt lord. It was an accident. It's not like you know anyway," she began, dusting her hands off, "and Jo will still be very excited because she gets to see your joy."
Brendon looked down, "was she happy with the gender?"
Alex shrugged, "ask your fiancée."
She walked away and walked to the backyard. Brendon turned to me and raised his eyebrows, "well?"
"Yes," I began, "of course I was. No matter the gender."
He didn't move a muscle, "can we set it aside until after the party?"
He nodded his head and took a breath, then walked outside. Did I just ruin the party?
:;
Brendon and I stood in front of everyone else. A disco ball hung from the tree branch above us. Alex's party idea was kind of good, in a sense. A disco ball because of his band, Panic at the disco. Creative. Brendon held the bat in his hands, tightening his grip around the end, "everyone ready?" He raised his voice so everyone could hear him.
I looked around at everyone who raised their drinks up and cheered. A countdown began. From ten to one. And in an instant, Brendon hit the disco ball. Not once. Not twice. But the third time was lucky. Pink smoke fluttered in the air and Brendon's excitment took over him. He dropped the bat and immediately took me into his arms, kissing me on the side of my head more than once. I drowned everyone's jeers out and in the moment. Everything fell perfect.

I stood in the front doorway and waved at my mom, "bye mom! I love you! Be safe!"
She waved lightly at me and I shut the door. Sighing in relief as everyone left. I walked down the hallway and into the kitchen. Brendon was putting the food into tubber-ware containers and stuffing them into the fridge, "free to talk now?"
He turned around, letting the fridge close on its own. He walked by my, motioning with his hand that we sit at the kitchen table. He sat at the head of the table and I sat on the right of him. My eyes were glued onto the table, unable to make eye contact, "i'm sorry I didn't tell you I knew."
"I don't think I'm mad," he began, "just more hurt that you didn't."
"I didn't want to ruin it for you," I began and placed my hand onto his, "you were so excited to find out with me. I was pretending to not know for you."
He picked my hand up, placing a kiss on it, "it's okay, darling."
I smiled lightly and sighed in relief, "you've thought of names, haven't you?"
He smiled softly, "want to hear them?"
I smiled at him and nodded my head, "i'd like that."
Brendon looked me in the eyes and tapped on the table. A smile creeping across his face, "well I was thinking Georgia. Spelled the italian though...like G-I-"
"-O-R-G-I-A," I began, "I like that. Giorgia Urie."
"I think Giorgia Danielle Urie sounds good."
It does have a ring to it.
"What about Katerina Claudia Urie?"
He smiled softly, taking it into consideration, "Kennedy-Jae Pauline Urie? We could call her Kj."
I liked that one. I drowned him out. In pure adoration, I stared at him. He really was going to be in my life...forever.
