I woke up in the hospital. I knew exactly why I was here. Joanne wasn't around and neither were the kids, but i'm assuming that they're coming today. I looked around and shut my eyes for a moment, but opened them once the door opened, "Mr. Urie?"

I turned my head to the doctor and nodded my head toward him. He cleared his throat, "do you know why you're here?"

I nodded my head, "yeah, yeah. I know why," I began and cleared my throat, "does my wife know yet?"

He shook his head and set his hands on his hips, "no, not yet."

"Can I ask you a favor?" I began and sat up in the bed, "can you tell her something else? Something that...I-I don't know, believe-able. Im trying to find a way to tell her myself."

The doctor nodded his head and wrote a note down, "definitely. Patient confidentiality. I can do that for you."

I shut my eyes and rubbed my face, "thank you, sir."

He nodded his head and turned to walk back out of the room. I grabbed my bag from the chair on the side of the bed and debated on calling Joanne. I felt terrible. She probably hasn't slept since.

Joanne:
In the parking garage, I set Freddie in the stroller next to Bella. Alex held Clover and Rivers hand as we began walking to the exit. I cleared my throat as we walked toward the door and Daphne quickly walked up and opened the door for me. I swiftly walked in and I took a deep breath, walking down the hallway to the front desk. I asked for Brendon and she gave me the room number and I walked toward it.

I stood in front of the door, taking a deep breath. Alex tried to rush next to me, "what are you waiting for?"

I shut my eyes and set my hand on the doorknob, "just preparing myself for whatever may happen."

"Jo-"

"Ah," I said and put my finger up, "silence."

I kept my eyes shut. Taking a deep breath in, I opened the door and let the breath out. My heart raced but I tried to mask it. As I strolled the stroller in, I could see Brendon just sitting up in bed, rubbing his face. I smiled softly at him, walked to the chair and put the stroller beside me. Alex walked in with Daphne, Clover and River—then walked back out to wait for us. I grabbed his hand, but then took it away and hit his arm, "what the hell is wrong with you?"

Brendon grabbed his arm, "first off, ow. Second of all, what're you talking about?"

"What happened? You were passed out on the floor-"

"Oh, yeah. Right," Brendon began and cleared his throat, "they said I had a very high fever."

"What? How did you get one? A-and how are you all good now?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows.

Brendon stared at me, "dont get me wrong, I still feel a little faint and sick, but uhm—the shit they put in these IV's babe, man, they really do the trick."

I nodded my head slightly. River climbed up onto my lap and I picked him up and adjusted him. Daphne put Clover onto the bed, then glanced at Brendon, "are you going to be okay, dad?"

Brendon pressed his hand against the back of her head and pulled her head close and kissed her forehead, "I'll be alright, you know me. Im just gonna thug..."

Brendon trailed off when he saw me glaring at him and he looked back over at Daphne, "i'll be alright."

Daphne slightly hugged him, then walked back and sat down on the other chair. Silence filled the air and it was sort of awkward. I didn't know what to say to Brendon—and he looked guilty of something. But, I let it roll down my back because I had bigger issues today, "are you coming back home with us?"
