The cool, yet humid air grimly hovered over Joanne's hometown, Queens. I shoved my hands into my leather jacket pocket, standing in front of a house on the market. I was waiting for Joanne to be ready. To walk in and get excited about a new house. I took my right hand out of my pocket and put my hand on her lower back. She glanced up at me, with those bright eyes. Clover and Daphne stood in front of us. Daphne making sure Clover didn't run off or anything. River was on Joanne's hip, looking around and sort of admiring the world around him, "can we get goin'? We can't wait out here all day."

I heard her take a deep breath, "yeah. We're goin' in. We are...on the way."

She hadn't made moved from the spot she was standing in. I furrowed my eyebrows and chuckled a little. "Okay. So...why haven't you moved, darling?"

"What do you mean? I was just about to."

"Okay," I whispered. I placed my hand on her lower back again and walked with her, "alright. Walk with my, baby. One step," I began and she stepped forward, "okay, good, good. You want me to keep doin' this?"

Joanne didn't really give a clear response. But, I continued doing what I was doing because it seemed to be working. The three other houses we had been to, Joanne didn't have this sort of reaction.

The house looked like a castle. It was blue, but I'm sure Joanne would want to make it a different color paneling. The wrap around porch was everything Joanne had ever wanted in a house. This was her dream home—our dream home. I knocked on the door. Joanne stared directly at the door. It opened and the real estate agent opened the door, with a smile painted across his face. He stuck his hand out and I did too, "Aaron Pestin, real estate agent."

I shook his hand, "Brendon."

Aaron stuck his hand out toward Joanne and she shook it, "Joanne."

"I thought I knew you two from somewhere, you're the one in the band and she's your clothing designer wife." he began and set his hands on his hips, "these are your children?"

I nodded my head, with a smile on my face, "yeah."

Aaron let us in and I let Joanne and the kids go in first, and I followed behind. When we walked in, there was a big hallway, which could be used for hanging up coats and a place to put shoes and bags, "so, where do we want to start?"

Joanne adjusted River on her hip and moved strands of hair that was sticking to her lip gloss, "Uh, anywhere."

I leaned down and picked Clover up. Daphne stood slightly behind me, as she probably didn't want to be here, even though she was okay with moving. Clover rested her head against my shoulder. I rubbed her back as we followed Aaron into the kitchen, that at the end of the hallway. It was cute. It looked like a cottage house and that fit us perfectly. The cabinets were this beautiful light blue and the fridge was white, but it looked like the ones we had growing up. the stove matched the color of the cabinets. The dining room was set up in an open spot beside the kitchen. The table was a dark wood color and the dining chairs were wooden as well, "wow."

"This is the kitchen and the dining room. Obviously, very big and very easy to get renovations or anything you want done to it." Aaron stated.

Joanne glanced at me and nodded her head, "this is beautiful. How has no one bought this yet?"

"People say it's too expensive," Aaron began and rubbed his hands together, "i'm losing my last bit of hope for this to get sold."

Jeez, what a way to ruin the fucking mood. I raised my eyebrow and nodded my head. I glanced at Clover, who was falling asleep on my shoulder. Aaron guided us upstairs. There were a ton of rooms. This house was a five bedroom, three bathroom house. It was beautiful. The backyard was gorgeous as well. There was this beautiful garden and a pond. It would be perfect because Joanne loves to garden and the kids and I love to look for frogs and go fishing. All of the rooms were perfectly sized, there was nothing wrong with this house.
