I stared at the picture of me and this guy in Hawaii when I was sixteen. I was posing with him for a picture...we'll sort of. He looked so familiar. I knew these features. The wide, yet perfect nose, those dark brown eyes, the pale-ish skin. The dark hair. But, I couldn't figure out who it was...

That was until it hit me;

"Dad?!" I yelled through my house, getting up and carrying the scrapbook with me. I kept my eyes glued to this picture of me.

Yet, no answer. I walked up the steps, glancing anywhere I could, "dad!"

"What?!" He yelled back.

I sighed with relief and followed the sound of his voice. Brendon had taken Clover to a check up. So it was just River, Daph, dad and I. I walked into the study room, where he was sitting in the chair by the window and reading the newspaper, "what is it?"

I handed him the scrap book and he took a long sigh before he adjusted his glasses and glanced at the pictures, "Joanne. C'mon. How the hell am I supposed to know what you're talking about?"

I rolled my arms, crossing my arms and then scoffing, "that picture you guys took of me and that guy in Hawaii when I was sixteen."

He squinted his eyes and inches his face closer to the scrap book, then clicking his tongue against the roof of his mouth, "Huh. That's uh...jesus christ, that's Brendon."

I raised my eyebrows, "you're one hundred fucking percent sure?"

Dad handed the scrapbook back to me and nodded his head, "yes. Im sure that's Brendon."

I turned out of the room, hurrying out. I ran down the steps and to the kitchen, tossing the scrapbook on the table and standing over it. I stared at the picture. I was sixteen. Brendon was...I'd say roughly seventeen to nineteen years old. I don't know.

We've met before? The person I hated from the beginning, fell in love with and now have a life with, i've met before? I shook my head and paced around.  This isn't real. That's a fake picture, it can't possibly be real, right?

I finally took a seat at the table. Daphne had walked down with River and I picked him up and set him on my lap, "you look happy."

I glanced at Daphne, raising an eyebrow, "And this is your business because?"

"Because you're my parent?" She questioned me, as if I were dumb.

I adjusted River on my lap and sighed, "I mean i'm happy, but i'm confused."

"Okay," she began, "can I go to Aunt Nikki's?"

I furrowed my eyebrows, "i'm sorry, you willingly want to go there?"

Daphne walked over to the fridge opening it and grabbing a water out of the fridge, "yeah. You don't?"

I chuckled for a moment and let River play with my fingers, "you have so much to learn."

Daphne stood at the counter and stared at me. I stared back, waiting for her to say something, "So, can I go and can you take me?"

I got up from the seat and propped River on my hip, "yeah, go get your stuff together."

Daphne ran toward the steps at the same time the front door opened, "Hi dad."

"Hi pumpkin," Brendon began, "babe! I'm home."

I quickly closed the scrapbook and hid it under the extra newspaper we had. I walked over to. the front door. Brendon set Clover down, "show your mama what you got at the doctors, Lovie."

Clover ran over to me and I squatted down to her level as she shoved a lollipop in my face, "Mama! I got lollipop!"

I giggled and gave her a kiss on the cheek. I set River down and Clover grabbed his hand, "let's go play!"
