February 20, 2017:
The rising sun never failed to make Clover smile. I sat at the window seat of the bus. Pointing for Clover—letting her explore the world from the window. Her hands hit the glass. Excitement poured over her. Daphne was fast asleep on one of the couches. Brendon and River were fast asleep in the back. It was only six in the morning. We'd only left for tour two hours ago. I got up from the seat, propping Clover on my hip. I walked to the back room, where River slept in the crook of Brendon's armpit and Brendon's right hand rested on River's stomach. I smiled softly, setting Clover down on the bed. She climbed in, next to her brother and cuddling. Brendon must have known she was there because he started to play with her hair. Which, always helped her fall asleep.I walked back out to the main area. Everyone was asleep except for me. To be honest, I was really worried about not having a job. I didn't want Brendon to provide for the kids by himself. Parenting is something we do together, not only one of us. I opened the fridge, grabbing a water and walked back to my seat, "baby, come to bed."
I turned my head and shook my head, "i'm okay."
Brendon walked up behind me, sliding his hands down my arm and resting his chin on my shoulder. He kissed my neck softly, "c'mon."
"Seriously Brendon. I'm okay."
"Hm. You don't sleep when you're stressed."
I furrowed my eyebrows and turned to face him. I crossed my arms hesitantly, "what? How do you know that?"
Brendon's eyes glanced at me, "don't worry about it. What's goin' on?"
His hand fell to my lower back, guiding me to the seats. We sat down and he rubbed my back. "I don't want you to be the only providing for the kids."
"Darling," he began, "I think I love the idea of you being a stay at home mom."
I turned my head and looked at him. My eyebrows furrowed and I straightened my posture, "Sorry. Let me turn my hearing aids up, I don't think I heard you right. Could've sworn you just said you love the idea of me being a stay at home mom."
He gave me a look and I knew.
I sighed, "Brendon-"
"Joanne," he began and took my hands, "I don't care if you've got no money to your name or if you have all the money in the world to your name. I will still be your husband and you will still be my wife and the mother of our children."
I sighed. I nodded my head, agreeing to him. A stay at home mom isn't a bad thing. I just never imagined myself as one. Brendon kissed my cheek, getting up and walking back to the room. I got up again, grabbing the box of cereal. I poured the lucky charms in, closing the box and putting it back into the cupboard. I opened the fridge, grabbing the milk and walking away as I opened it, "Darlin'. I need your help."
"What can I help you with?" I began, setting the milk down and turning around. Brendon was in a buttoned up black dress shirt, holding a white tie, "oh?"
He stared at me, "I need your hands," he began and moved the tie toward me, "to help me tie this tie."
"Oh, sure," I began and shrugged, "I guess I can help you."
He pointed the tie at himself and then me, "do you want me to come to you," he began and pointed the tie back to himself again, "or do you want to come to me?"
I bit my lip slightly and hurried over to him, "come to you."
Brendon's chin lifted slightly and he let out a breath, looking me up and down. I took the tie from his hand, wrapping it around and beginning to tie it, then glanced up at him, then the tie again, "so, after all this time you still don't know how to tie a tie?"
