Welcome back, everyone. We have another long chapter ahead of us, so I'm not going to speak for long. Thank my Co-Author, 12112685a, for writing with me; I cannot thank you enough, and  Padraig448 for suggesting the idea for Sin the warlock serpent; thank you so much for your vision for the character. Now without further ado, let's go.

A few weeks had passed since Maua's interaction with Sin, but nothing happened after that. Sure, Makucha and his gang would attack now and again, but the Lion Guard, with help from the Night Pride and Witches Coven, would drive them away like usual. But they still hadn't had an encounter with the frightful serpent just yet, which made Maua nervous.

But Via wouldn't let her worry about it for long. The green-furred Lioness always reminded her that she was protected and wouldn't allow Sin to harm her. This lifted her worries about Sin, but other things worried her. She was worried about what would happen if she found out the truth about her parents and what she would do if Mama Binturong did have a part in why they were not in her life. Right now, after a successful patrol, the Witches' Coven decided to spend the day with their loved ones. Maua went to the marsh with Via to spend the rest of the day with Bunga and Binga. The two Honey Badgers seemed to be getting on well. So well to the point, Maua would playfully tease her big brother about it. The two young witches made it to the marsh and were greeted by Bunga and Binga, trying to see who was the bravest by jumping from tree branches.

"Be careful, you two! Try not to get too carried away!" cried Via, not wanting him to get hurt. "When have I ever gotten too carried away, Vi?" Bunga said in a chill voice. "... A bunch of times." The Hyena pup and Lioness cub both spoke at the same time. "But this isn't going to be like those times! I'm with Binga this time!" Bunga told them, sending a smile to the female Honey Badger. "Ok... fair point," Maua said with a shrug. Bunga and Binga then counted to three and jumped across tree branches for as long as it took till one of them stopped. Via oversaw them, ready to catch them if they fell. She then glanced at her girlfriend and saw that she was watching the Honey Badgers but could tell that her mind was elsewhere. "Spill it, Blossom. You're thinking hard on something." The green-furred Lioness said to the Hyena pup. "What?" Maua snapped out of her thoughts and looked to Via. The Lioness cub was giving her a look, and she sighed as she reluctantly spoke up. "It's just... I want to find out what happened to my parents. I need to know." Maua told the Lioness what was bothering her.

"... If you wanna know, I'll help you find out," spoke Via in a hesitant tone. Maua looked surprised to hear that. "Wait. You know a way for me to find out what happened?" She asked with a hopeful expression. "I do... I think Karmen can help us. You technically have the memory within your mind and don't remember it. Maybe she can show it to you." Via suggested after thinking to herself. "Well, let's go ask her!" Maua exclaimed eagerly. "Hey, Mau Mau! What's got you so excited? Is it something fun?" Bunga asked her as he landed on a branch. "You'll see!" Maua called back to him as she and Via took off. Feeling like it was something important, he jumped down and ran after them. "Bye, Binga! I'll be back!" He promised her. "Don't be gone long!" Binga called back.

Bunga ran on all fours to catch up to Maua and Via and noticed they were heading to Karmen's den. "Hey! Why are we heading to Karmen's home?" He asked his little sister curiously. "We wanna ask her something," answered Maua briefly. "About..." Bunga said, wanting her to tell him what she was going to Karmen for. "... My parents," Maua finally admitted to him. "... Well, then I guess we'll find out together," Bunga told her with a soft yet severe expression. "Thanks, Bunga," Maua replied to her big brother with a smile. "Anything for my little sister," Bunga replied with a big brotherly smile. They arrived at Karmen's cave, entered, and began searching for the Hybrid Hyena. They found Karmen helping out a Jaquin with a broken wing and approached her. Karmen looked at them using her peripheral vision and spoke up. "Hey, guys. What brings you here?" She asked them. "We... wanted to ask you for help finding out what happened to my parents," Maua said nervously. Hearing that, Karmen stopped fixing up the Jaquin male's wing and turned her head to look at them in surprise. "... Um, h-how did you figure I could help with that?" She asked them with a slight stutter.
