Welcome back to another addition to the Purest Wolf series!!! I hope you guys are enjoying our book so far. A LOT is gonna happen in this chapter but hopefully, y'all are for that chaos. Now enough of my chitchat. Let's get on with it!

Makucha and his gang of predators were glaring down at the Night Pride as the team of Lions kept them from getting anywhere near their lands. "That's far enough!" Rani told them, blocking their path. "Oh, I don't think so. We wanna get to the Tree of Life and I don't think you can stop us," Makucha challenged. "Look at them. They're exhausted," Mama Binturong pointed out to her group with a smirk as she hung upside down from a tree branch.

Even Baliyo confirmed this with a yawn. "So tired..." He mumbled. "Don't let them see it," Surak warned him. "Bit late for that, handsome," Hex said to Surak with a flirtatious smirk. "Nirmala, Surak! You know what to do!" Rani shouted. Nirmala nodded and ran down with Surak to face off with Makucha and Hex. "Remember what the Witches Coven said: Dodge away from Hex's curses," Surak reminded his mate in a whisper. "Right," Nirmala nodded. "Kiba! You take out the tired Lion," Makucha ordered the Werewolf. "With pleasure..." Kiba said, but just before he pounced, he was blown back by a huge burst of water. "You looked dirty, Kiba. Thought I could give you a little bath. You're welcome," Came Dali's quick jab at Kiba. "You pests?!" Ora snarled at the cubs. "That's right. Along with ALL of our not-so-sleepy friends." Giza added after the Fox.

The Witches Coven and the Lion Guard arrived to face off against the villains. Maua snuck off to face off against her mother. "Causing trouble again, Mama?" She said in a whisper. "You know me, honey. Would you have me any other way?" Mama Binturong whispered back with a heartfelt chuckle. Maua rolled her eyes but hid a smile from her adoptive mother. "CHARGE!!!!" Dali screamed at the top of her lungs. Bunga jumped into action and raised his claws like fists toward Mama BInturong. "Want to go a few rounds, Mama Binturong? Well, let's go," The Honey Badger said with a fierce grin. "Careful, Bunga!" Maua warned as they got into a fight. Roars and snarls echoed through the air as the Lion Guard and Coven tried to take down their foes. However, Kion and Rani somehow gave orders to their respective teams that got in each other's way. And somehow, during all the mass confusion and chaos, none of the villains noticed that one Coven member was missing in action.

"... Wait... Where's Gara?" Dali asked in a low voice as she hadn't seen the Snow Leopard cub anywhere. But before anyone could respond, suddenly, thunder cracked above them, and a blizzard seemed to envelop them and they only appeared in that area, much to everyone's surprise. Hex, however, seemed annoyed. "Keep fighting, you dolts! No snow is gonna stop me from-- AGH!!!"

The scream was caused by an icy blast in the back, and Hex panted in anger because of this. Her eyes blazed a bright blue as she glared at her surroundings. "... Here, kitty kitty. I know you're there. Why don't you come out and play?" Hex called out.

"... Better idea," Langara's voice, which seemed as sinister as she could muster, seemed to echo from all directions. "Why don't we play cat and mouse instead?"

Gray yelped and hid behind Kiba. "She's a ghost!!" He exclaimed nervously. "She's not a ghost, idiot. She's just hiding," Kiba told him as he looked around. "Perfect game, 'Gara'. You can be the mouse and I can be the cat. Sound good?" Hex said with a grin, her magic buzzing through her fur. "... Or..." Langara replied from somewhere.

"AGH!!" Ora cried as he was struck on the side. "Where is she?!"

"I like being the cat better... it means I can use my paws AND my claws..." Langara finished her statement. "Well, every cat is afraid of a dog..." Kiba called out as his eyes took on a more beastly look.
