If you were expecting it it to be a peaceful day in the Pride Lands, then you'd be very disappointed. At least you would be if you were the Lion Guard. The Guard were currently chasing off Janja and his hyenas back into the Outlands. "Get out of here, Janja!" Kion shouted, chasing after the hyena. "C'mon, Kion. It was just one Gazelle." Janja responded. He and his hyenas then jumped over into the Outlands and turned towards the Lion Guard.

"Okay okay! See?! We're back in the Outlands. Ya happy?!" Janja said from his perch. "And next time, stay there!" Bunga shouted triumphantly. "Nice work, everybody. Let's go." Kion told the Guard. Everyone then walked off, leaving the hyenas where they were. Janja watched as the Lion Guard left, making sure they really left. "Alright. Come on, fellas." He said as he jumped back into the Pride Lands. "Huh? Where we goin', Janja?" Cheezi asked. "Where else? To get that Gazelle." Janja answered. "Um, back in the Pride Lands?" Chungu asked. "Uh, Janja. Didn't the Lion Guard tell us to stay out of the Pride Lands?" Cheezi asked Janja, unsure. Janja then turned to them. "Yeah. And when do we take orders from the Lion Guard?" He shot back. "Um, since never?" Chungu answered.

The Lion Guard were walking back to the lair, not yet knowing that their day would soon get longer. Alice walked with Kion, her tail wagging as she stole a glance at Kion. She still couldn't believe he was her mate. She took the time to "get a better look at him." From his strong, feline body, to his enchanting golden amber eyes. 'Isn't this ironic? I'm a canine in love with a feline. The irony is, I'm a lot like my parents than I thought.' She thought to herself. Not that she was complaining. It took everything in her to not just pin him down and nuzzle herself into his chest. So she just settled for little glances and tail wags. Kion caught her eye and looked to her. She then looked away, trying to look innocent. Too late. "Alice? Are you okay?" He asked the wolf. "Yes, of course! I'm perfectly fine. Why wouldn't I be?" Alice rambled. 'Oh god. I'm a lot like my mother than I thought.' She inwardly groaned to herself.

"Are you sure you're okay? Nothing's bothering you, is it?" Kion asked, concerned. Alice smiled at him and said, "I'm fine. In fact, I've never been happier." And it was the truth. Kion then smiled back at her. Suddenly, they both heard familiar cackling. "Not happy anymore." Alice said annoyed. Ono then looked in the direction he heard the cackling. He used his incredible sight to see that Janja and his hyenas were back in the Pride Lands. "Hapana! Looks like Janja and his clan are heading back into the Pride Lands." He groaned. "Didn't need to tell me twice." Alice said, still annoyed. "What?! Don't they know when they've been beaten?" Bunga exclaimed.

"Guess they're not giving up today." Beshte said. "Ugh, those hyenas." Fuli groaned. "C'mon, Lion Guard. Let's go. Till the Pride Lands end!" Kion said.

"Lion Guard defend!" The Lion Guard finished.

Janja and his hyenas were searching the Pride Lands for that Gazelle they had chased before the Lion Guard showed up. "Spread out, boys!" Janja commanded. "I don't see that Gazelle no where." Chungu stated. "You sure about this, Janja? We were just chased out of the Pride Lands." Cheezi reminded. Janja got in Cheezi's face and said, "So. If I want to go into the Pride Lands, we go into the Pride Lands."

"Yeah, that's not how it works, dear." Said a feminine voice from behind them. Janja looked behind him to see Queen Nala and Rose perched on top of a rock. "Janja, what do you think you are doing in the Pride Lands?!" Nala demanded. Janja nervously chuckled. "Nala. Is this the Pride Lands? I must have gotten turned around. I would never want to go where I'm not welcome." He said. "Wow. You are a terrible liar." Rose said with mocking smirk. Janja then looked to her with an irritated frown. "And who are you?" He asked.

"Queen Rose of the Midnight Kingdom. You can refer to me as 'your majesty'." Rose introduced. Nala and Rose then jumped of the rock to face the hyenas. "The Outlands are that way." Nala informed them. "Yeaah, so we keep hearing." Janja said, not moving to go to the Outlands. "My daughter, Alice, was right. You really don't know when to quit." Rose said, getting ready for a fight. Janja seemed to get more irritated when she said that. "So you're the mother to that abomination?" He asked with a scowl. Rose's eyes widened in disbelief. Her expression then changed from shocked, to barely contained rage. "What......did you call my daughter?" Rose asked in a barely calm voice. "Didn't ya hear what I said? That daughter of yours is an abomination!" Janja said louder for her to hear. Rose was physically shaking in rage. So much so, that she started to feel the darkness in her heart spread to her entire body. Her light magenta hair turned black, as well as her jacket. Her dress then turned dark red, as well as her glowing red eyes.
