Kion led the Guard and Alice's family to Pride Rock to meet his father. To his right was Alice, following next to him. He turned to her and thought to himself about his unique friend. 'She was really good with those hyenas back there. It looked like she didn't even need to use her magic to fight them.' Kion thought. He started thinking about how she would look fighting them again. That's when an idea came to mind. Kion then smiled to himself as he planned on how he was going to surprise his friend. 'I wonder what the others will think about this.' He thought to himself. He went back to looking forward, guiding them to Pride Rock, still smiling.
Rose looked at Kion as he was guiding them. She had seen the look on his face when he looked at Alice. She could tell he was excited about something, but that's not all she saw. There was something else she saw in his eyes. He might not have noticed it, but she did. 'Is it just me, or does he look like he might be crushing on her?' Rose thought to herself. She stopped herself before she got too excited. 'Calm down Rose. You don't know if your little girl even likes him like that just yet. Be patient, and watch as this progresses.' She told herself. She had a feeling like this is the start of something beautiful.
The group finally made it to Pride Rock, and started to climb up to the den. There, Simba and Rafiki stood talking to each other. "Hey, Dad! There's someone who wants to see you." Kion called out to his Dad. Simba then looked over to Kion and saw the group behind him. He had a confused look on his face as he looked at the strange group. He then heard a giggle from one of them as they spoke, "Really, Simba?" It was the light magenta haired female that spoke with a smile on her face. "Have I changed so much since the last time you saw me? I'm hurt, Simba." She teased. Simba took a closer look at her, as he felt that she looked very familiar to him. His eyes widened when he realized who she was. "Rose? Is that really you?" He said with a hopeful smile on his face. "It's been a long time hasn't it, my friend?" She replied with a grin.
Simba then ran to her, circling her to get a better look at her. "Woah, Rose! Look at you!" He exclaimed. "Look at me, look at you! You've grown, my lion friend." Rose laughed. "Or should I say, my 'Lion King.'" She said with a sly smile. Simba blushed, embarrassed, as he said, "Yeah. I'm sorry I didn't tell you when we met. I kinda wanted to leave this behind at that point in my life." Rose hummed as she said, "Yeah. I guess we had that in common." "Wait, what?" Simba asked. Rose replied with, "You didn't tell me about you, but I kinda didn't tell you about me being the Queen of my kingdom either, back then." Simba looked shocked at what she said, but then a smirk appeared on his face as he looked at his friend. "So you're telling me that we were both royalty, and didn't tell each other?" He asked Rose. "Yep. All that time hanging out, and we never knew that we were royals that entire time." Rose laughed. Simba joined in, both of them feeling stupid for not knowing about the other. Kion then took his chance to speak. "Wait a minute. So Alice, that means that you're a-" Kion said. "Princess? Yeah. I am." Alice nervously chuckled. "Then why didn't you tell me?" Kion asked. "Well, I didn't really know you. So I didn't want you to treat me like royalty. I wanted you to treat me like your friend." Alice answered. That's when Rafiki stepped up to talk with Alice. "How exactly did you meet our young prince here, miss...." He asked. "Allison. But I prefer Alice. And if you're wondering how I met Kion, I kinda saved his tail from drowning." Alice answered with a smirk directed towards Kion.
"What?!" Simba exclaimed. "Long story, Dad." Kion said to his father. Rafiki then said to Alice, "But you barely knew Kion. You had no idea who he was." "I know. But I gave him a chance to show me who he was. I always give others a chance to show me that they have good in them before judging them." Alice replied to Rafiki. He smiled and said, "A wise decision. I can tell you have the purest heart and soul, young wolf."
"And that's why I came to a decision awhile ago." Kion said with a smile towards Alice. "What decision Kion?" Fuli asked. Kion looked to Alice and said, "I want you to be apart of the Lion Guard, Alice." "WHAT!!!" The rest of the guard said simultaneously. Alice looked shocked at what Kion had said. 'Me?! A member of the Lion Guard?' Alice thought to herself. "You want me to be apart of your guard? But...why?" Alice asked Kion. Kion replied with, "Well for one, I've seen how you fight. You were seriously fierce. Even more fierce than I am." Kion praised. Alice blushed at that, grateful once again that she had black fur. "And two, Rafiki's right. You have a pure heart. You don't judge someone at first glance, and you like to help those in need. We could use someone like you, Alice." Alice looked at the rest of the guard, then back at Kion and asked, "What does the guard consist of?"
Kion answered, "I'm the Fiercest. Bunga is the Bravest, Fuli's the Fastest, Ono is the Keenest of Sight, and Beshti is the Strongest." Alice then asked, "What would I be then?" Kion walked up to Alice with a smile on his face and said, "Are you saying you want to be apart of the Lion Guard?" Alice rolled her eyes with a smile and answered, "You didn't even need to ask, Kion." "Well, in that case," Kion raised his paw and put it on her right shoulder, "Alice, the Purest." He took his paw off her shoulder. A dark grey roaring lion mark then appeared where Kion had taken his paw off her right shoulder.
Alice looked at the mark on her shoulder, and beamed in happiness. She had a chance to do great things, and she was not going to turn it down. Kion saw the happiness in her eyes and took pride in knowing that he was the reason for her happiness. It made him even more prideful when he saw her tail wagging due to her happiness. Bunga then jumped next to Alice and said, "Welcome to the Lion Guard, Alice!" "It's good to know I'm not going to be the only girl on the team." Fuli said.
Rafiki smiled as he looked at the new member of the Lion Guard. 'A very interesting turn of events.' He thought to himself.
Alice looked to Kion and nuzzles him. "Thank you thank you thank you!!!" She says as her tail wags. Kion blushes hard by the action and his heart is pounding. Although he feels embarrassed with Alice showing this kind of affection, to him it felt right. Alice wasn't feeling any different. When she nuzzled Kion, she immediately felt something deep within her. She felt the need to show more affection towards him. To always stay by his side. To always be there to protect him. She didn't know why, but she could always find out later.
Rose knew why though. The same thing happened with Daniel when he had met her. She had felt the same when she looked into his eyes. And now the same thing had happened to her daughter.
The Wolf and the Lion had found their mate, and they didn't even know it yet.
