It was a peaceful morning in the Pride Lands. The sun was rising, shining its beautiful light down on the land. The birds were flying high in the sky. The only noise you could hear, were that of the chirps of birds and the wind blowing leaves into the air. Alice laid on her back, in human form, just looking up at the sky. Since it was morning, and it was the Guard's day off, she decided that she was going to chill out in the fields for a little while. She wore a red, spaghetti strap tank top and black shorts, while her bare feet were crossed as she continued to stare at the sky.
She stared at the sky, while also in deep thought. 'What is there to do today?' She thought to herself. She knew that she couldn't just lay there all day. She'll get bored real fast. And when she got bored, someone paid the price for that boredom. When she got really bored, she tended to cause all sorts of mischief and trouble to the poor, unfortunate souls that she happened to spot. And that meant a lot of screaming and outrage from whomever she caused trouble to. But she wanted to avoid that. Today. Right now, Alice wanted to do something that would occupy her time. She sighed as she sat up and looked at the the fields around her. Her eyes then glanced and stopped towards the Outlands, and she thought about exploring it. But she then dismissed that idea as she didn't want to risk running into Janja. Though she can definitely take care of herself, she didn't want that to be a problem in the first place.
Then her thoughts drifted towards another hyena she knew. Her best friend, Jasiri. 'I haven't seen her since our first meeting. I wonder how she's doing.' She thought. Then her eyes widened as an idea came to mind. She then had a big smile on her face as she thought more on it. 'It actually wouldn't be a bad idea to go spend the day with Jasiri.' She then jumped to her feet and said to herself, "I know what I'm going to do today!" She then used her vampire speed to run all the way to Pride Rock to tell her parents what she was going to do.
When she got there, she entered the den to see where her parents were. She caught sight of them, and rushed to them. "Mom! Dad! I'm going out to go see a friend." She said. Her mother Rose looked to her and asked, "How long will you be gone?" "Most of the day, but I'll be back, don't worry." Alice replied. Rose looked at her, as a mischievous smile appeared on her face. "Do I know him?" Rose asked. "What!" Daniel exclaimed in outrage. Alice looked at her father with an annoyed look on her face and said, "Don't worry, Dad. My friend's a girl. Not a boy." Daniel then had a look of relief on his face and whispered to himself, "Thank the Moon Goddess for that."
"Come on, Alice. You could've at least played along." Rose said to her daughter, wanting to have continued the joke. "And run the risk of Dad keeping me here. Not a chance." Alice said, shaking her head. Rose rolled her eyes with a smile. "Go have fun, and be safe, okay?" She told her daughter. "Thanks, guys. I love you!" Alice said, running out of the den. She was just about to run to the Outlands, when she stopped and thought about something. 'I better tell Kion where I'm going. In case he ends up needing me for the Guard.' She told herself. She ran down to the lair to look for Kion. She saw him resting above the pond, and walked towards him. Kion laid there relaxing and enjoying the peace he had today. He then saw Alice walk up to him, and he immediately perked up. "Alice! How are you doing?" He asked his friend. "I'm doing just fine. I wanted to let you know that I'm going out." She replied to him. Kion wondered where she wanted to go. "Where are you going?" He asked. "I was going to spend the day with Jasiri in the Outlands." She answered. Kion's eyes widened as she told him what she was going to do. "You're going to the Outlands to see Jasiri? Do you need me to come with you?" He asked a little worried about his friend. He wanted to make sure that she was okay. He knew that Alice could take care of herself, but he just wanted to make sure that she wouldn't get hurt.
"I'll be alright. Thank you for asking. I really appreciate that." Alice said with a smile. It always warmed her heart when Kion was concerned about her. She knew that he thought she could take care of herself, but that didn't stop him from caring for her wellbeing. "No problem. I just want to be sure that you'll be safe." Kion told her with a smile on his face. He couldn't explain, but he felt that he needed to make sure she was safe. "Alright, Kion. I'm off to the Outlands." Alice said walking away. As she walked, she flicked her arms upwards in a cross motion, as she disappeared in a cloud of red smoke, and reappeared in wolf form at Flatridge Rock.
